Really depends on the show for me. There are many where I am good with ten to thirteen episodes while a show that is only half an hour like X-Men could have twenty. The original run was 13,13, 19,21,10.

Yes absolutely it depends on the show. Most shows I prefer a tight 10 episode season. But when it's really good and already short at 20 minute episodes, 10 episodes just isn't enough. Especially when they have so many stories that they could tell on this show. But at least the pacing is quick so they are fitting a lot in a 20 min show.

I love the pacing. They are giving us more stories by not dragging it out too long. A show like this could have twenty five episodes a season and I would be good with it. There is also the fact a lot of these ten episode seasons only happen once every two to three years. If it could at least be every year that would help.

Star Trek - Strange New Worlds. Since it is mostly episodic I could easily do twenty plus a year. Felt like it was over with too soon. Feels like there were stories there that other shows would drag out for an entire season vs one episode.

I know we're getting OT here and it just seems to be us two, but I think I'm done with the trend of season long, or even series long story arcs. It's they're good then it ends up being a great season/show. But too many times the build up is just not worth it. It can ruin dozens of hours of TV if the plot arc isn't resolved in a satisfying manner. And most of the times it isn't.

But this is not episodic. The story lines are still serial as where the first four seasons. Season five is the only one that's episodic and it's by far the worst of them.

It's better if they at least break it up into smaller arcs and pace it well enough within the season. Or when it's in the background over the entire season. To use SNW again, I really enjoyed watching an hour long Star Trek show with the entire story in one episode. (And really almost an hour) Of course Picard season three was great and it was basically a movie. Really depends on a few factors.

Good episode and the first one that seems to be a multi-parter. Enjoyed the recreated 16-bit simulations.

So looking forward to this. I don't know what Beau DeMayo did to warrant his separation from Disney but at least we have two season of his done. This show is so dialed into the audience and characters than anything Marvel has done in years.

5 episodes in, this is the best Marvel has done since Endgame ended.

It's like the comic books. No body = not dead.

Also, it's like the comic books. Dead =/= dead. There are mistakes, resurrections, surprises, clones, hidden identities, changelings, etc.

For sure. And it does kill the sting a bit. But still....that last scene it seems like at least for now dead = dead. Maybe I'm wrong?

I would assume that the appearance of a certain time traveler moments before it happened, and Beast probably having an understanding of how to make a time band after fixing one for Bishop means some timey wimey stuff will be happening that may reset things.

Re: Marvel Animationís X-Men Ď97 (Disney+) - premieres 3/20/24

I just started watching so I won't read through this thread yet (I know some major stuff went on in the last episode) but wanted to get this in here: is the mouth animation distracting for anyone else? I don't know why it feels so awkward to me. And it's not like I don't watch a ton of anime where the dub doesn't exactly match the lips so it's not that.
