These are great. A lot of people skip over them because they’re animated. I’m hooked.

Episode 3 was a brilliant mash up of Die Hard and a post Ironman 2 Avengers.

This might become a Christmas staple.

And there is a post (English) credits audio Easter egg.

I gotta stop reading the opening credits to avoid spoilers of what characters will appear. The show is great so far, and I think the animation is just gorgeous in these.

I'll say 2/3 . . . but, as I said earlier, I am biased that I don't like Happy Hogan, or, should I say

Spoiler:
Hulk Hogan
?

I did get a kick out of Peter getting a stuffed raccoon.

Is anybody else struggling with identifying characters when they are out of costume? It's like they are all generic white guys.

Yes, especially Steve Rogers in the elf costume at the start. I was trying to figure out who he was then I saw the shield.

Same with Clint Barton at the toy store.

At least the models matched the likeness of the 80s Avengers.

i thought these episodes have sucked thus far. The only decent one was Quill. The others were so stupid and just not fun. the X-Mas episode was especially terrible. Really disappointed thus far.

Well, if that’s how you feel so far, skip episode 4, you won’t like it.

It’s the weakest of this season so far, but I enjoyed it for what it’s worth. Not nearly as creative as the others have been, but better than some from Season 1.

To each their own, OldBoy.

My thoughts exactly.

And it was like Jeff Goldblum was doing a bad impression of himself.

Goldblum has been doing that since the 1990s.

What If Marvel did Bladerunner?

What if Marvel did Die Hard?

What if Marvel did Death Race 2000?

Ok, now throw the small animals!

To each their own, indeed! Episode 4 was easily the best of the entire series, and even one of the better things Marvel has put out in some time. LOVED IT!!

It was great to have old school Valkyrie back (sorry, somehow the character morphed into a Loki variant in the last few appearances). Always love Korg, and he was killing it. Laughed out loud several times and even had tears. Little Moppet of Evil?! And an actual chariot? THIS EPISODE ROCKED!!

Alcoholic Tony Stark being dropped by Demon Rum was hysterical.

“I don’t normally do sequels, but Captain Carter is my friend and her story is not over yet…”

Interesting take… nice weaving of other stories into this tale.

And, it’s not over yet.

Watcher’s last line was great… had me rolling.

Looks like we’ll get:
Spoiler:
Season 3… What If Marvel Did “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court?” 😉

Re: Marvel Studios What If...? (Disney+) -- Season 2 -- Premieres 12/22/23

"Unplugging it and plugging it back in won't work." You know that is EXACTLY what Banner and Stark would do a few times.

There was a Captain Carter musical . . .

Episode 5: What if Marvel's What If? half-did Marvel's The Winter Soldier and What If What If? tossed in Black Widow?

This one was OK, but I'm not a big fan of the ones that just redo the movies we already have.

Goldberg, I'm assuming this is the first (obvious) episode that will drop us into

Spoiler:
Episode 8, based on the episode titles. I'm assuming each of the previous episodes will feed in to that, also. Then Episode 9 will be setting all that "straight."

I thought about it a little bit and figured you might be right... so I googled "1602" and this was the first link returned...
Spoiler:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_1602

Marvel 1602 is an eight-issue comic book limited series published in 2003 by Marvel Comics. The limited series was written by Neil Gaiman, penciled by Andy Kubert, and digitally painted by Richard Isanove; Scott McKowen illustrated the distinctive scratchboard covers. The eight-part series takes place in a timeline where Marvel superheroes exist in the Elizabethan era; faced with the destruction of their world by a mysterious force, the heroes must fight to save their universe. Many of the early Marvel superheroes — Nick Fury, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man — as well as villains such as Doctor Doom and Magneto appear in various roles.
I've never heard of this limited series, but this is definitely where they are headed.

But... Wanda is credited as Wanda-Merlin... so that threw me off a bit (taking them all the way back to the 6th century)... a thousand years before that story.

We'll see.

Didn't know anything about that. Was just guessing based on the title. I am intrigued by it!

Re: Marvel Studios What If...? (Disney+) -- Season 2 -- Premieres 12/22/23

Today's episode (S02E06) was quite interesting... and I didn't mind that it was almost completely subtitled - it added to the authenticity of the people of times.

I closed my eyes during the intro as not to read any of the names of the voice talent in this episode and I'm glad I did.

That's all I'll say.

While the Mario Kart race was overly long, I actually enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would. They brought Stark and the Grandmaster together in a fairly plausible way. Was hoping for a Beta Ray Bill appearance. My only gripe is a lot (most?) of the classic What If...? stories ended in death and disaster while too many of these have happy endings. I want to see What If Loki Conquered Earth.

And yeah, the Stark voice actor killed it. They need to put an Invincible Iron Man animated series into production now. Maybe Iron Man and the Avengers can cross over into the X-Men 97 revival too.

On the other hand, I think I've finally had enough of Korg. He made no sense on Xandar, and while he would have probably have been on Saakar in this time period, he's just overused.

You can never have too much Korg. Korg ROCKS!

The new episode:

What If Marvel did Prey?

Really enjoyed them trying something different (even if it didn’t hit on all cylinders). Also loved the entire episode being subtitled. If that bugs you, there is an English language version in the “Extras” section.

The direction we are being pushed in is pretty obvious now.

Re: Marvel Studios What If...? (Disney+) -- Season 2 -- Premieres 12/22/23

Thought that was a great episode.
I’ve read tons of comics and read about comic book characters and I don’t know who Karhori is either and I’m usually on Oldboy about asking questions too but I thought that was a legit thing to ask here and also look it up.

I haven’t looked it up yet either but will. Was hoping someone would have talked about the character but I guess no one will.

I’ve caught up on this yesterday and today and I think it’s better than season 1

I really liked the Kahhori episode.

Re: Marvel Studios What If...? (Disney+) -- Season 2 -- Premieres 12/22/23

From an article I found.

Voiced by Canadian Mohawk actress Devery Jacobs, Kahhori is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first completely original hero. While other heroes have been transformed from their original versions, Kahhori is built completely from the ground up. Much like Echo, whose own show premieres in January 2024, Kahhori provides much-needed Indigenous representation to the MCU, and her introduction in What If allows her to exist in a universe where colonization could actually be avoided.”

Wow … I figured the character was just a really deep cut. Kudos for starting something new, MCU!

Although, that reinforces my proclamation about this episode. I just don’t have one for Episode 2.

Oh shit, she’s Elora Danan!? I knew that name sounded familiar!
