So, the long Victory walk was something I would be deriding with passion.

But...it worked here.

Bring on 3!

(And Serinda Swan with the scars.....? )

I really liked that they took a picture with most of the team beat to shit

Re: Reacher (Amazon) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 12/15/23

It was good, but I feel like they kind of ran out of story at the end. The story was basically wrapped in the first 20 to 25 minutes and then it was just an extended epilogue.

I did love Reacher throwing Langston out of the chopper and then the firing squad was pretty badass And then Reacher not letting the Pilot and engineer off the hook.

I hope for season 3 it’s just Reacher and Neagley. I love the dynamic they have.

Overall, I preferred season 1 a little more.

Yeah, the actress who plays Neagley is great. They need to keep bringing Neagley back--even if she's not in whichever book they're adapting.

Re: Reacher (Amazon) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 12/15/23

I finished up the season this weekend. I enjoyed it all for the most part. It got a little over the top near the end, mostly with Reacher leaping on the helicopter and hanging onto Dixon as she was dangling from the chopper still strapped to the gurney. Still, it was fun to watch.

I also liked that everyone on the team was beat to shit at the end except for Neagley, who barely had a scratch on her.

Yeah, Reacherís trachea line was the best of the season. I also enjoyed his disappointed reaction when that kid took the last Clark bar.

I was really hoping Reacher would have ordered a piece of pie at the end when they were all sitting in the diner deciding how to split the money.

I hope they make a season 3. Ritchson is perfect for the role!

A video earlier in this thread showed that they were already filming season 3 before this one aired.

The idea of a 65yo Patrick trying to get info out of Ritchson by punching him in the face is pretty hilarious. At least the character didn't seem too bothered by it either.

Yeah the last half to the episode was really dragggggggggggggggged out...I kept waiting for something and "it" never came.

I liked the season however.

I do also like that it basically ended here also if it didn't have another season. This was wrapped up. I know I am a broken record on this but I really hate cliffhangers.

Re: Reacher (Amazon) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 12/15/23

Just finished it and thought it was a fun season with the whole team involved. Man, the fight with the bikers in episode 4(?) was off the hook. DJariya mentioned that the final episode felt more like an extended epilogue which I agree with. It wasn't bad, but the main storyline wrapped up in the first 20 minutes or so.

Bring it back for S3.

I concur. S2 was great, but the charm of season 1, for me, was seeing Reacher play off of people he hadn't met before. I enjoyed seeing his relationship with Finlay develop throughout the season. The case they were investigating also seemed a little more layered.

I donít hate cliffhangers but in this new day and age of potentially 2+ years between seasons of streaming shows, yeah, they kind of suck.

Reacher seems like it does a good job of self-contained seasons. He goes some place, kicks ass and takes names, then moves on to some place completely different for the next season.

Wow I greatly disliked this season, and I loved S1. That helicopter scene was one of worst, dumbest scenes I've ever seen anywhere. I agree with this review:

I think a lot of those criticisms are dead on and fall 100% on the show's writers. I'm pretty sure none of the following happened in the book:
Spoiler:

- Special forces providing support to Reacher & Neagley or being in any way involved.
- The big shootout at the end.
- Reacher jumping onto a helicopter wheel and riding it into the sky.
- Reacher holding a stretcher with a person on it by one hand while hanging from the helicopter with the other.
- A lot of the speechifying.
- The absurd we're-all-killing-this-dude-together-with-100-bullets execution (I think Reacher turned that dude over to the cops in the book.)
- Stealing money the government knew about.
- Keeping Swan's finger and eyeball to frame him (or framing him at all for that matter).
- Shooting down the helicopter in domestic airspace with a stolen missile.

I'm sure I missed some. There were other goofy changes in previous episodes, but the finale just went wild. The climax in the book was much more satisfying and less stupid than the show. And again, I'm extremely wary of anyone who reads a Reacher book and thinks it needs to be more unrealistic. Hopefully they get someone with better judgment to come in and temper that impulse for season 3.

Re: Reacher (Amazon) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 12/15/23

I get the criticism. Season 1 was way better... story felt more real and grounded. Season 2 seemed like a mindless action film.
Regardless, I still loved it. Bring on S3!

Re: Reacher (Amazon) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 12/15/23

Season 3, series star Alan Ritchson announced Jan. 24 on Instagram, will adapt Persuader, the seventh of Lee Child’s Reacher novels, set in Maine.

“Ten years ago, a key investigation went sour and someone got away with murder. Now a chance encounter brings it all back,” an Amazon synopsis for the book tells us. “Now Reacher sees his one last shot. Some would call it vengeance. Some would call it redemption. Reacher would call it… justice.”

Officially, though, Prime Video sums up Season 3 thusly: “Reacher must go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past.”

John Wick would just cover his face with his suit jacket to deflect Reacherís punches.

Reacher beats up thugs, kills bad guys and then bangs really hot women. I need to hit the gym.

I like the character, but think it would be better if she was absent. Reacher is supposed to be off on his own, yet she keeps popping up all the time?

Re: Reacher (Amazon) -- Season 2 Thread -- premieres 12/15/23

I was watching Episode 5 last night and the wife walked in and said "wow, he's a shitty actor". She's right. He's awful despite having all the "Reacher" traits of being huge and smart.
I like this show, it's perfectly fine for what it is. Ritchson is like Lurch despite being likeable and kinda funny. That said, I'll continue to watch each and every season.

My wife realized at some point the way Neagley talks is like a 1920s actress like Mae West or something saying 'Come up and see me sometimes boys...'
