The Curse (Showtime) S: Nathan Fielder & Emma Stone; C: Fielder, Safdie - premieres 11/10/23
New series created and written by Nathan Fielder & Benny Safdie. Starring Fielder, Safdie, and Emma Stone.
The series will explore "how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show, Flipanthropy."
I will watch anything Fielder does and this sounds and looks right up my alley.

That's 3 interesting people. Deserves a chance at least based on that.

This was some weird shit.
Real insane. I'm looking forward to more.
Stone doesn't work too much these days since having her kid, so it is nice to see her in another project (two this year!).

Uuuuuggghhhhh, twenty minutes in and I have sssuuuuuch a pit in my stomach.
Fielder is so incredibly masterful at crafting escalating moments of discomfort.
This one, though, wow, I'm not sure how to feel.

Some people will definitely break their own toes watching this, but I found it pretty hilarious. In for the season.

This was the most uncomfortable I've ever been watching a TV show. But very curious where it's going.

"Love to the Third Degree" was so spot on and will probably end up as an actual series in a few years.
Almost didn't recognize Corbin Bernsen but he's really good.

I agree with the uncomfortableness. But I'm not at all curious about what happens next. There are too many shows to watch where I don't feel uncomfortable. I'm one and done on this one.

My prediction, based on how many of the shots are framed:
If it's not that, that's okay, but I wouldn't put it past Fieldeler to go down the rabbit hole like that.

I watched the first ten or so minutes of the first episode and quickly lost interest.
I might wait until it's over, and see if it's worth the effort to get through from the response, and then binge it.

It was very big of Will Gluck to come clean about what he did.

So is it a joke or what? I'm totally confused.

Just watched the first episode.
I’m not sure about this one, but it kinda feels like Nathan’s first real misfire to me.
Some major cringe moments that started a little funny (no pun intended) then get dragged out.
I’m sure some will love it though.

Yeah, I just watched Episode 1 on my daughter's recommendation/demand. I didn't really like it. Not sure if I'll be back at this point. Very uncomfortable and unlikeable.

I’m enjoying this. Like someone else mentioned, I’m waiting for a major shift. I’ll be surprised if it is as straightforward as we are seeing right now.

I'm watching episode 2 right now and this show is something else. I read that it is 10 episodes. No telling where this show will go with another 8 episodes left.

I watched the first two and while I think Fielder is a genius this one is a rough one to get through. Maybe that’s his intention. Never can know with him.
