Whoa, Morgan and Lena almost blew it. I can’t fathom how they f up that mural matching detour so badly. The matching picture is 5 ft from the mural!

Anna Leigh is a firecracker kicking ass. Impressive.

incoming double uturn ahead. they strongly foreshadowed which team was going to get the uturn so we will see if “not helping” others will cause their downfall

Hoorible U-Turn stategy imo by the majority those teams, sure the father and daughter team are doing good now. But if they are still around at the tail end of the season, when you get a real physical roadblock they are gonna be reliant on a 60 year old guy competing since the daughter has done most of the road blocks so far.

agree. They were 1 hour ahead of the second team so it was unlikely they would be knocked out by the double upturn. Select Robin and Chelsea would have been the more strategic move.

Re: The Amazing Race Season 35 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23

This was one of the funniest episodes I've seen on this show in a while. The India based episodes always seem to bring the craziness out watching the teams navigate the traffic, animals and overall chaos of daily life there. I love how the show keeps coming up with interesting challenges after so many seasons. That block printing one was making me scream at the TV watching so many people not even try to line things up before imprinting their blocks! Loved Chelsea and Robbin describing themselves as 'not being married because they are arm-candy but because they can haul a BBQ up a flight of stairs' and later when Robbin described the day's racing as a 'fresh slice of hell'.

Sorry to see the brother team go out like that but it was almost like they just gave up once they realized they had a slow rickshaw driver.

I found that really stupid too. You should U-Turn a lower team on the clock, move on and live another day. It's an elimination race until the very last leg. All you need to do before the final leg is not be last.

I didn't like that U-Turn format, but damn, it was so easy - everyone above the last starter should have U-Turned the last starter.

I didn't understand why they had to go back and finish the other detour before they could start the brick one. I mean you're allowed to switch detours. I figured they should have been allowed to do the bricks and then go back and turn in the receipts rather than having to go back and forth.

They were U-Turned and had to complete one detour before moving to another. The team can choose which one to do first but the first one has to be completed in full. Steve and Anna Leigh did not complete the first detour they picked so they had to go back to finish it.

This prevents cheating by completing a detour partially then going to finish the other detour. Then completing the unfinished detour.

Now if you weren’t U-Turned and just decided to switch detours, that is another thing.

I'm actually surprised they alerted them that the task was not completed. They should have waited until they get to the pit stop, and had Phil say "however... you did not complete your U-Turn, and you must do so before I check you in."

you are allowed to switch detours before finishing it as morgan and Lena did with the murals. It was unfair that the producers through the person at the brick detour told them they hadnt finished the first detour. In the past, they have penalized teams with a time penalty at the pit stop for not completing a detour

Nice jump for Morgan and Lena. Another good roadblock task, where no lead was safe.

I also thought it was odd that Steve and Anna Leigh were given the heads up, but I guess the explanation that one detour has to be finished before the other one for a U-turned team makes sense.

Morgan and Lena were not U-Turned, they had the
freedom to switch at will.

in past seasons the uturn sign was sometimes placed after completing one part of the detour, So a team would vote and force another team to go back and complete the other detour. Since the team did not know they were uturned until after they completed one detour, it is likely, they had the option to switch between detours just like everyone else.

Yeah, they seemed like good guys and all, but team "Just Happy to Be Here" had gone past their expiration date.

Tiresome leg in Germany. Morgan and Lena ripping each other, brutal!

I probably would have done the soccer dart challenge. I’d probably get sick of eating all the mustard haha

I love German mustard. But I'd probably be sick of it after that. Tough detour. Props to the father/son getting the 66 in soccer darts.

Not much drama in this one.

No surprise on elimination. Malaina and Andrea were at best survive and advance contestants who already felt like they had been there at least leg or two too long. But if you're going to get eliminated then get really eliminated where the task people have already gone home, and Phil has to meet you on the race.

Complete BS that Anna Leigh and Steve didn’t get a penalty when they took the elevators down to the bottom floor when the clue said travel by foot to the next pit stop.

They also got the heads up when they didn't complete one side of the U-Turn. Someone wants them to stay in the race.

Doesn't "by foot" generally mean not using a vehicle like a car, train, bus, taxi, or bicycle? I would think that using an elevator would still qualify as being "on foot" since it's a fixed part of a building. They probably have this spelled out in the rules that the audience doesn't see.

Did the clue explicitly say climb up the stairs and down the stairs? If not the later, I don't see the issue. And I don't see using an elevator as violating the "by foot" rules otherwise.

the clue says travel by foot to the next pitstop. they took the elevator, a mode of transportation, from one area to the bottom and perhaps gained an unfair advantage over the sisters. Steve could have taken a long time to go down the stairs than by using the elevator

I don't really consider an elevator a 'mode of transportation" when it comes to what I have seen previously on TAR. I always thought of a "mode of transportation" as a car, train, taxi, etc. I'm not going to nitpick it.

Oh hell no. There goes my team.

Travel by foot

TRAVEL. BY. FOOT!!

If the guys questioned it, and they have the insight rule book knowledge ahead of time, it should be a penalty.

Yeah, it seems likely that the elevator helped them beat the next team. And they even survived the Express Pass debacle. I thought for a second that they weren’t even going to let them zipline down.
