What if your coworker was already overpaid and did not deserve a raise? Or is this just a general principle that people deserve raises just for the heck of it?

It's Vanna Frickin White! Yes she deserves a raise, there's really no question about it.

But even if you don't agree that Vanna deserves a raise, Pat is still an ass of the Kevin Sorbo/Dean Cain/Scott Baio variety.

Re: Pat Sajak to retire after 2023-24 season of Wheel of Fortune

I'll give you a back to your forth one more time, in a final attempt to make the truth of the matter clear to you.

1) Vanna White does not deserve a raise. She is grossly overpaid as it is. Now that the tiles light up on their own, her role on the show is entirely ornamental. She literally has no purpose on the show, other than to be there because she has always been there. She is like keeping a broken clock hanging on a wall because you like how it looks.

2) She has never demanded more money before because, to her credit, she had the self-awareness to realize that they could hire a younger and more beautiful model to decorate the WoF set for a tenth of what they pay her.

3) It is absolutely, no fucking way in hell, Pat Sajak's role in her life to advocate for her. And it is not his responsibility as a coworker, a longtime friend, or as a human being to lift a finger to get her more money from Sony.

I understand what you think, but that is not how the world works. And the truth is that any instances (like Friends) that you can point to where that was how the world works, are going to be exceptions that prove the rule.

And I am not saying that Pat Sajak is not an asshole. IDK if he is or not. But if he is, this is not one of the reasons.

I tend to hold people to a higher standard than "that's just the way the world works".

Vanna White will remain as the co-host of "Wheel of Fortune" for another two years.

In a press release from "Wheel of Fortune" on Tuesday about the show's 41st season, it was revealed that the longtime letter turner, 66, extended her contract through the 2025-2026 season.

In addition to White, fans of "WOF" will see Pat Sajak's daughter, Maggie Sajak, return as the show's social media correspondent.

The news of White staying on "WOF" for an additional two years comes three months after Sajak, 76, White's legendary co-host, announced that he would be retiring after the show's 41st season.

Sajak announced the news in June on X, saying that being on the show has "been a wonderful ride."

Ryan Seacrest will take over as "WOF" co-host once Sajak wraps the upcoming season.

"I can't wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White," Seacrest said in an Instagram post in June.

Sajak has been the host of "Wheel of Fortune" since 1981. White, who operates the board and reveals letters as they are guessed by contestants on the game show, has been on the show since 1982.

Vanna actually is the cue for audiences to clap. Sure you could say that 'anyone could do that', but because it is her... she holds the Guinness Book of World Records because of it.

She also brings in advertisers/sponsors and has a huge loyal fan base.

Also, am I wrong or the intro to the show for many, many, many years has been something to the effect of "...and here are your hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White." She is pretty much inseparable from the show.

She had a guest role on an episode of Married With Children (during the shows 7th season) that was a pleasure to watch. She was basically on the show to show-off that she looked hot AF in lingerie, and well, mission accomplished. Although Jefferson's comment about her skin was also pretty darn funny.

Pat & Vanna sound a lot better than Chuck & Susan or Pat & Susan.

Very important to have Vanna there as a draw for viewers, otherwise how would they get the demo for those Medicare assistance commercials?

I'd love to see Sajak host Jeopardy once. That would be a great stunt. I'm surprised the established game shows don't "trade" hosts for like a week.

They don't need stunts. Everyone that is going to watch is already watching, pretty much everyday. I have friends in their 70s who time their dinner so they watch Wheel every night, and my nephew in his 30s DVRs The Price is Right everyday to watch after work. These are creature of habit shows. That's why they kept the same host and hostess on Wheel for 40 years.

It happened. One April Fools Day several years back Trebek hosted Wheel of Fortune and Sajak hosted Jeopardy!.
