They should take a week off because of that stupid DST rule.

Possibly the dumbest thing ever posted in an SNL thread. They shouldn't have the show because clocks change during the broadcast? They've done this every season of the show.

Man... that's saying something for Jeff!
And it doesn't even change during the broadcast. The show is over before 2am ET.

I agree with Jeff. I enjoy Saturday nights more when SNL is off because it allows me to watch other stuff instead. Between the time change, SNL, and the Oscars, there's gonna be a lot of lost hours for me this weekend.

Keep in mind, Decker did qualify it with the "dumbest thing ever posted in an SNL thread". There's an entire NFL thread and many other sub-forums to consider too.

It must be tough for cast members who have one less hour to sleep or party after the show.

There is no law they have to have a SNL show tonight when it could air next week and have two weeks off between shows.

They could have done a show the night before the Super Bowl which they did in the past to make up for it?

Okay, would you cut out the DST complaining shit! Holy crap! We get it you hate it. You've already complained enough in multiple threads.

If I could change the subject to something less inane, I am really looking forward to seeing The 1975 perform. They put out my favorite album of 2022 and they're very good and polished live.

Never got the memo that said you HAD to watch SNL and the Oscars.

But then, you wouldn't be able to bitch about those shows on the internet.

The Waffle House sketch was fantastic.

The "School vs School" sketch makes me think that Jenna Ortega is campaigning to play Rogue in the MCU's X-Men movies.

The Waffle House sketch was the only good thing in the episode.

They must not have much faith in Ortega’s ability to do comedy because the cast had to do most of the heavy lifting.

You know it’s a rough night when even the Please Don’t Destroy bit is a dud.

Molly Kearney got some work tonight, but it was all playing dudes, which I suppose they’re okay with. They were pretty funny as the TN Lt Governor.

I hope they book U2, Depeche Mode, and Ellie Goulding before the season ends since all of them have new albums coming out.

Re: SNL 03/11/23 (S48E15) — H: Jenna Ortega - MG: The 1975

The Travis Kelce show was better though not that I had high expectations with the guest host.

The Red carpet was ok though the Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson impressions were not really good.

Fred Armisen should have had more sketches.

I already hated the Ridiclous sketch since that is what MTV shows now instead of music videos.

Maybe Ego Nwodim will fill the McKinnon void and she is kind of underrated.

BTW I started watching at 12:43am and finished at 3:07am.

This week they seemed to be making a noticeable effort to include more of the rookies into the show.

Re: SNL 03/11/23 (S48E15) — H: Jenna Ortega - MG: The 1975

Somehow I did not even know that last night was the time change.

I thought this was a pretty lousy episode. I liked the Waffle House and Please Don't Destroy, but I am not a fan of the only good things being the filmed pieces.

I suppose it will turn out that Ortega is a very talented actress, but I don't think live sketch comedy is her thing. And damn, she is skinny. Ended up watching her on Hot Ones, and she is stoic af.

And just because word choices jump out at me, it bothers me that in the monologue they had her say Armisen had been on the show for 11 seasons, instead of 11 years.

The Waffle House bit was awesome. If you've seen crazy WH fight videos then YOU KNOW. 😂🤣😂 The

I would normally FF past a group like the The 1975 but i was shocked by how much i enjoyed them. They're music is like Updated 80's Soft Rock.

Nice to see some love for The 1975. Check out their greatest hits or Apple Music Essentials, lots of great songs.

FF thorough most of the show, Jenna Ortega never has to worry about hosting again. Lol

Re: SNL 03/11/23 (S48E15) — H: Jenna Ortega - MG: The 1975

Like I said their new album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language was my favorite album last year. It's produced by Jack Antonoff and it's slick and solid all the way through. Besides the two songs they played ("I'm In Love With You", "Oh Caroline"), you should seek out "Part of the Band", "Looking For Somebody To Love" and "Wintering".
I saw them live in November and they were great. I've never seen anyone drink as much on stage as their lead Matty Heald. He was sipping from his flask not just between every song but between lines as well. God knows what his alcohol tolerance is. His flask was right behind him on that low table on the SNL stage.

My take on Ortega's physical appearance was how short she is. You definitely see it in the Law Firm Jingle sketch where she's dancing with Bowen Yang at the end. They definitely film Wednesday at upward angles to make her more imposing physically. I went to IMDb after the ep, and saw she is 5'1, and even that seems like a bit of an embellishment.

I was looking forward to the episode (I like what I've seen Ms. Ortega in so far, and let's face it, she's quite easy on the eyes too) but didn't get to it till last night due to other commitments. In that time, I've seen reviews titled "Jenna Ortega hosts best SNL of the season so far", and um, no, it was not.
