Anyone with half a brain can see that Paramount regrets licensing everything out to HBO MAX and wishes it had the content to prop up Paramount+, and that the "specials" were a way to try to circumvent that. HBO MAX makes a pretty compelling case of that in the lawsuit, but I guess we'll have to see what Paramount's response is.

I imagine the parties will come to some kind of settlement, maybe reducing the amount of of fees HBO MAX has to pay. Paramount has a lot of nerve complaining about licensing fees not being paid. I wouldn't be paying them either if Paramount hadn't been delivering content like they should have.
The lawsuit alleges that when HBO Max bid on the “South Park” streaming rights, it did so with the assurance that there would be three new seasons of 10 episodes each. The suit alleges, however, that only two episodes were delivered for the first of those seasons and only six for the second. HBO Max understands that the third season will also consist of of six episodes — for a total of 14 across the three seasons.
That's with some editorial involved, but here we go, another 4 episode left in 2023 even though Paramount guaranteed HBO (for MAX) 10 episodes each season. They are producing half of what was guaranteed while producing several "specials" for Paramount+ when HBO MAX has first rights to anything SP related.

It's gonna get real ugly considering South Park is a huge streaming draw to HBO MAX and only getting 6 new episodes for 'next day' streaming while Paramount+ is apparently getting something like 14 "specials"

I'm sure some here were not happy to see a Randy episode but I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Man, Jimmy's voice is so different now. Basically sounds like a knock off of Cartman's voice.

I noticed that too. Has Trey always voiced Jimmy as well?

This season has been excellent so far. If you can watch it on HBO MAX, I highly recommend it... hearing the kids swear is 10x better than it being bleeped on Comedy Central.

I hadn't realized it until I read the comments, but Jimmy didn't stutter at all this episode. Guess Trey forgot

Oh, and I'm really looking forward to M&T's take on ChatGP this week

When do the episodes become available on HBO Max? I usually like to watch them the same night they air on CC if possible.

Good episode tonight. Had a real South Park "Classic" feel to it.

So many voices sound off this season. Garrison, Clyde, Jimmy, even Randy, Cartman and Stan. Yes, all voiced by Trey. Not sure if it's just him being older or he's dealing with throat problems

Yeah, that was good.

I had never heard of ChatGPT before John Oliver did a segment about it on Last Week Tonight a few weeks ago. Though I'm certainly not surprised it exists.

Is it safe to assume that the end of South Park was actually written by ChatGPT? If so, fucking brilliant!

Yeah, pretty much. The credits say "Written By Trey Parker & ChatGPT"
