I wasn't really watching the screen much during Sam Smith's performances. I saw some of it and it looked weird but pretty much on par for how most musical guests pay too much attention to theatrics.
Just that the music stunk.

Blonde Aubrey is still pretty, but now she's just a generic looking blonde. She always had a unique look that meshed well with the sarcastic characters she always plays. Now she looks like any other Hollywood blonde.

Yeah, I was surprised it's her first time hosting as well. She's also worked alongside so many SNL Alums, like Poehler in Parks, Fred Armisen in The Little Hours, Bill Hader and Andy Samberg in The To-Do List, and probably a few more that I'm forgetting.

Overall I thought she was good, and oddly her best sketches were at the end: The HIV medication commercial, and the film noir parody. A lot of the reviews I've seen bag on the Avatar parody, which was pretty bad, but that Miss Universe sketch was absolutely awful. And yeah, Aubrey, next time you're in the salon tell 'em you wanna go back to your natural color again.

Couldn't they at least make an attempt at making an Alec Baldwin joke during Weekend Update?

I felt sorry for that female singer "hiding" under Sam Smith's robe thing. Uck.

Aubrey was great. She's just got a magnetic thing when she's on the screen.

Aubrey was amazing, not a huge fan but know who she is. Was baffled to have to repeatedly explain who she is to my wife. LOL Maybe I should get her to register here. That was just as good as Martin and Short! The nun skit fell a bit flat as did another but she really committed to the show and brought a lot of energy. Can hardly believe she is 38 now!

Jon Lovitz also did a George Santos impression but maybe Bowen's was better

It was all right, but I kept waiting for him to merge it with his pathological liar character from SNL days. It might've been better (at least for nostalgia's sake) if he'd done that.

I didn't even click on the link, because I assumed that's all his "Santos impression" was; a rehashing of his SNL character.

My favorite was the Game Night sketch. That was pretty clever.
And as a big White Lotus fan, enjoyed their spoof.

He didn't even pull out a "That's the ticket!"
