That first ep1 was a bit of a snoozefest.

Isnít Smallville in Kansas and Metropolis essentially New York? How are they driving back and forth so quickly?

They are probably doing the Smallville thing and putting it in Kanas.

Gotham City is NYC. Metropolis is more like Wichita.

This has some interesting takes, including a previous DC author who says they are meant to be say/night of NYC but doesnít go into location.

According to this, Smallville wasn't placed into Kansas until 1986

This week's episode had some cool stuff with the supervillain, and the kids at the party was even kind of fun. But, man, that Lois storyline is going to make for a very depressing season.

Yeah, that was a kick in the trunks for sure. I guess the Fortress is of no use.

Curious whoís behind that sound mask.

I like the guy playing Mannheim.

This Jordan / Sarah thing is going on too long though.

Re: Superman & Lois (CW) -- Season 3 -- Premieres 3/14/23

I caught up with the last 2 episodes. The storyline with Lois being diagnosed with cancer is definitely a downer. But, that was some damn good acting by Bitsie Tulloch as well as Hoechlin. It's definitely a meaty storyline for them.

Chad Coleman from The Walking Dead playing Mannheim should be an interesting villain. They definitely have kept things up with the special effects budget.

I'm already tired of the cancer storyline. Unless it has some crazy twist like Lois got it from Kal's heat vision they need to wrap it up.

Superman's creators likely modeled Metropolis after the city they knew best - Cleveland, Ohio. Over the years, Smallville was clearly a rural Midwest town in a place like Iowa or Kansas. Making Metropolis likely Chicago. But Donner's Superman clearly turned Metropolis into New York City, which more or less became the default in all mediums. As someone mentioned, modern DC views Metropolis as New York City in the day, while Gotham is patterned after New York City at night.

I'd still prefer Gotham somewhere in New Jersey and Metropolis as Chicago, but that is not always accepted. I'm not a fan of Gotham and Metropolis practically being twin cities on the Eastern seaboard.

Re: Superman & Lois (CW) -- Season 3 -- Premieres 3/14/23

Pretty good episode this week. Some important reveals.

I lol'd at "L'il Kent, the worst rapper in Kansas."

I felt bad for Sophie, though at least they finally acknowledged her existence again. It was kind of funny that after not showing her onscreen for the past several episodes, when she does get some screen time everyone is ignoring her.

Hmmm... Jonathan and Sarah are spending some time together and Jordan was a little jealous.

I may be in the minority, I am liking the Lois story. It is different than her usually investigate personality. And it is making Clark different as a result. Good change up.

I sort of figured the reveal of the weird powered sound person was someone we had seen or met recently. Nice reveal it was his wife.

Re: Superman & Lois (CW) -- Season 3 -- Premieres 3/14/23

I like this show, but it seems like Clark and Kyle are always wrong while Lois and Lana are always right... Kyle left his youngest daughter with a couple of teens who were more than capable of watching her, but somehow that was wrong. He met his new girlfriend and Lana disapproved--as if it's any of her business whom her ex-husband dates! Clark did his best to prepare Superboy for fighting enemies who won't fight fairly, and somehow he's wrong. A few episodes ago, he tried to get Lois to take it easy per doctor's orders, but he was wrong because it wasn't what Lois wanted to do. It just feels like the writers come up with whatever they can think of to have Lois and Lana yell at Clark and Kyle each week. I just realized the dad who looks like Seal and his daughter weren't in last night's episode. (I can never remember their names.) Was their absence explained?

It's the network that brought you Vampire Diaries, and more recently Nancy Drew, Riverdale and reboots of Dynasty & Charmed. Isn't the CW made for teenage girls? Having strong female characters makes sense.

I like Kyle dating the Beppo woman.

Mannheim is just trynna save his girl. Lois needs to mind her business....

Re: Superman & Lois (CW) -- Season 3 -- Premieres 3/14/23

If this is the last season, it's been entertaining. I think the writers don't really know what to do with the "new" Jon so they may pair him with Sarah as a default to keep both those characters involved in the plotting. It does feel like they placed Jon on the shelf since his actor was replaced.

I kind of hope they avoid putting Jordan in a costume. Tyler isn't a bad Superman at all though I wish they could do something about his perpetual 5 o'clock shadow. He's a better Superman than Clark Kent, kind of the reverse situation from Dean Cain.

Re: Superman & Lois (CW) -- Season 3 -- Premieres 3/14/23

Was this the first episode of Superman & Lois without an appearance from Superman? How did Jordan make it all the way from Smallville to the fortress without a single person witnessing him flying? Shouldn't someone have recorded him on their phone during one of his many flights? It should be all over the news and social media by now that there's another person on the Earth who can fly.

Why? People apparently really dig it on him as Clark/Superman. Google it...

Re: Superman & Lois (CW) -- Season 3 -- Premieres 3/14/23

So the Kents don't want to use Kryptonian tech to save Lois because it would be unfair to the rest of the world? F that. That has to be one of the stupidest justifications I have ever seen in any show.

But His mom did say she was worried the tech wasn't compatible with Lois' weak human physiology.
