They are definitely heading toward a Seinfeld-type finale.

It’s sad to see Richard Lewis’ final TV appearances. They only show him sitting down, he must have been in bad shape.

Yea, felt the same watching Richard Lewis in last night's episode. Just obvious how mentally and physically he declined prior to his passing

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO) - Season 12 Thread - The Final Season - premieres 2/4/24

This week was pretty pretty pretty bad. Larry needing "clearance" from Richard Lewis just to talk to Conan O'Brien? Obsessed with a pen when signing Jeff's Power of Attorney? Susie and Jeff eating Larry's cheese that he left in their fridge after he said he'd back the next day to get it, and Susie saying "Sure!"? That Valet getting upset over Larry tossing his keys to another Valet? When it was clearly done in fun with a smile on both people’s faces. Come on! Worst episode of the season. C- rating.

I liked the valet stuff...but I can't really argue about the rest.

Plus Steve Buschemi, much like Vince Vaughn, is too famous to play a character on the show — he should be playing himself like Conan did. Sienna Miller player herself but Steve Buschemi is a theater owner from the club? Come on, be consistent!

“That’s my ex-wife, that’s not a woman”

The Ken/Kendra back and forth between Larry and Springsteen was funny.

Leon had some great lines tonight and I thought it was funny they used Cheryl Hines in the episode Larry gets Covid.

Yeah this was one of the funniest eps I've seen in a long time. Bruce was awesome.

That was great. Jerry showing up and them basically fixing the Seinfeld ending.

Leon’s “Larry, you’re fucked” after the prosecutor’s opening statement

Liked Springsteen testifying against Larry.

Susie getting the last line of the series “Go back to fucking jail, Larry”

It would've been cool if Richard Lewis' ex from 30 years ago was played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Surprised the didn't sneak a thing for Richard Lewis' passing - unless that was done one a previous episode and I missed it.

I thought this episode was a great encapsulation of the series as a whole, some heavy flaws that sapped my enjoyment, but the comedic highs make laugh so hard, I continued enjoying the show for it's nearly quarter-century run. I love these characters, I love having watched the actors change and age, and I'll love going back to re-watch the old episodes. Thanks to Larry and everyone for making such a special series.

They did a dedication card at the beginning of the episode after his death.

To not include Michael Richards, Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in some way seems like a major snub, and will probably piss them off.

I really can’t believe they went out exactly like Seinfeld. That was the laziest series ender I’ve ever seen. This season as a whole was extremely disappointing. To go out on such a note was completely lousy. Sorry to say.

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO) - Season 12 Thread - The Final Season - premieres 2/4/24

Watched the finale today. Thoughts:

Fun seeing all the callbacks to episodes from over 20 years ago. The trial was so over the top. The thing with Susie in the wheelchair was stupid.

Great seeing Hank from BB as the judge, but could have done without that terrible southern accent

Greg Kinnear was fun as the prosecuting attorney.

I was caught off guard by how old Jerry looks now.

Loved the whole run, laughs and laughs throughout the years. Definitely among my Top 5 sitcoms of all time

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO) - Season 12 Thread - The Final Season - premieres 2/4/24

It was interesting seeing Larry David revisiting some issues with the Seinfeld finale but it wasn't that funny. I watched a couple of episodes from this season and none of them were that funny. Transgender story left over from Seinfeld isn't funny. Covid's not funny. Leon has never been funny. Bruce Springsteen tries but he's not an actor. Sex on the floor isn't funny, sometimes it's a necessity.

Then I went back and watched "Palestinian Chicken". Aside from reminding me of the great Zankou Chicken it's actually funny. It allows situations to develop instead of forcing them. Curb was a great series and it didn't go out on the low of Seinfeld but it didn't go out on a high either.

He's trying to look younger with his hair transplant too.

I haven’t laughed a ton at this series. But it was always a joy to watch.

That's what happens when you steal someone else's young wife who is 20 years younger. Oh I forgot, she was already planning to split up after just getting married to her longtime fiancee! Whatever honey, it's called trading up. But at least they are happy, two kids and 20 years later...
