The way I hear it, there are not enough fan service easter eggs in this, so it's no good.

New Star Wars references Old Star Wars

"Fans" - Too many callbacks, broaden the universe, let it stand on its own!

New Star Wars doesn't reference Old Star Wars

"Fans" - It's like they don't even CARE about the fans!

The beginning of Episode 1 felt more Blade Runner than Star Wars.

Anyone else buffering/stopping? Not sure if it's me or they're getting hammered. Both ep 1 & 2 stopped around 10-15 minutes with buffering then uh-oh.

I'll preface this by saying Rogue One is in my top 3 of all the theatrical SW releases. This was pretty amazing. This is the stuff I've always wanted to see in live action (much like Rogue One finally gave more brutal fighting, you know, like a WAR). And as many of the non-spoiler reviews mentioned, with episode 3 all I could think of is Sam Jackson saying "Hold on to your butts!".

It's Star Wars without being too Star Wars. You can feel the oppressiveness of the now burgeoning Empire and it was interesting to see that side of it. Acting was top notch across the board and even though they showed a decent chunk of the scene with Andor and Luthen it was still crazy tense throughout. Also looks like they won't be afraid to pile up a body count (I though for sure mom was a goner). I'm still forming my thoughts on this and hope they stick with this feel during it's entire run. Of course, visually this was easily the best looking Disney+ series (SW or MCU) you can just see what a difference locations/practical sets make in giving this a big look and feel.

Same problem I had this morning.

Man... the direction and way this is shot definitely does not feel like typical Star Wars. It is refreshing.

The first episode was stunning to watch. Looked gorgeous. Even the mostly dreary atmosphere. But, impeccable design right from the title card. The story equally as good and I can’t wait to watch other two hopefully this weekend. Gotta watch the Yankees, but so far first…Breathtaking.

Well it's nice to have writing, acting and overall competent filmmaking back in Star Wars - it's been awhile! My criticisms:
Show length - for the first time it seems we'll actually have 7hrs of content - awesome! So lets make it seven episodes. This 30minute and change business is ridiculous,
Score - Is it against the rules to never use any existing themes? I feel like they would've added so much here.
Style - shaky cam all day here it seems. This is a crutch that I didn't think needed to be used here.

Looking forward to more, I wish the style was more like the OT films...I'm not really feeling the Bourne Identity style...but given my opinion of Lucasfilm currently - anything remotely professional looking I'll take.

Is this in 4K? Trying to decide whether to watch this upstairs or downstairs. Rogue One on Disney+ in 4K is amazing.

Re: Star Wars: Andor (Disney+) -- news, rumors, etc.

Andor is very un-Star Wars-like that's for sure. It's like some new modern sci-fi show in a completely different "universe".

I've been moaning for so long about Disney/LFL getting away from the usual SW tropes, reinventing the SW wheel, no more cheap references and brand awareness at the cost of good writing....and here it is (so far).

Andor is a grim, bleak, adult focus -- brothels, cold-blooded murders, raw violence, sieges with gravitas, and real-world level scenes of pain, sadness, fear, boredom, anger, jealousy, disappointment, frustration, distrust, etc.

On it's current trajectory this will be the best SW alongside Rogue One under the new Disney ownership and bodes well for future SW projects if they follow this adult angle more often.

Granted, some/many hardcore fans might find it a culture shock how un-SW-like it is, pining for the cheesy, swashbuckling style and usual tropes. If Disney can split projects up 50:50 down the road, or learn to merge into one show a 50:50 blend, then that could be a "best of both worlds" approach.

What is with this trend of light text?

Watched episode 1. Now I know why they released 3 episodes. Starting off a little slow, but that’s ok. Understandable.

I LOVE the production design. Everything in the environment looks like practical effects, or the CGI is just damn good.

Good tense music. My only dislike is the extensive name dropping. Gets really confusing.

Will watch one episode per day…

Sorry, it's forcing dark mode on mobile browser causing text to stay light colored. Have to edit text and re-color it black.

I went in knowing and expecting nothing from this show and it turned out to be my favorite Star Wars show on D+ by far. I’m fact I will go as far to say Andor is the first D+ Star Wars show I’ve actually liked.

Not enjoying this so far. I dislike the tribe of children, the slow pace, the red droid, the bad guys' uniforms that look like Bespin security guards and the boxy-looking ships. Half the time I can't hear or understand Diego Luna; I may have to turn on closed captioning for future episodes because he speaks softly and has a heavy accent. I have the same issue when I watch Rogue One. Also, what are most of these people doing--salvaging and selling junk? Is that their jobs? I like the grittier, adult tone of the show, but should it use Earthly curse words or make up new ones? I'll stick with it, but I hope things start to pick up soon.

My TV also said it streamed in 4K and in Dolby Vision. I had no buffering issues.

Shout out to Alex Ferns, the guy who was the first to say "shit” in Star Wars :p

I had zero problems with that. I was thinking more Tron Legacy/Blade Runner, but I fucking loved it (... and I HATE a good majority of the Disney SW/Marvel content so far).

Fucking Stellan Skarsgĺrd and Fiona Shaw elevate this thing to a whole new level.

These first three episodes were better than Kenobi/Book of Boba.

I'm excited to see where this goes.

I very much enjoyed this and didn’t want it to end. I’m not ready to say it’s the best D+ SW (Mandalorian still is IMO), but it has potential to be.

I get the split timeline but hopefully the “young” timeline moves past the current point sooner than later. I am excited to see more early Empire timeline though.

I put this on late last night intending to just watch the first episode and got sucked into all three. It's damn good, already easily surpassing Kenobi and Boba Fett for me. I'm guessing I'll also put it a solid step above Mandalorian, but will reserve that judgment until the full season's out.

Why are the parts with the Kenari children not subtitled? If you’re gonna show backstory that uses several minutes of show, why not have words??
