After the way you guys praised that Beth/Beth episode, I decided to give it one more watch, and no, the show is still just not for me. OK, I did laugh at the dinner table scene, but one laugh in 30 minutes is not worth the DVR space.

Night people was very Carpenter-esque. Fun stuff. Loved Jerry's night person was his pen pal.
I lost it with his fear boner

Yeah, I just caught that now. That was a strange episode. I guess good for them for trying new things. Most episodes I end up watching multiple times, but I can't imagine ever sitting through THAT again.

It wasn't so much ha-ha funny, but just twisted. And unlike a lot of the family centric stuff, especially with Beth, it didn't feel forced.

LOVED episode 5, “Final DeSmithation,” extremely inventive/clever. It's got another gross incest angle, but it dances around it hilariously. Piles and piles of ridiculous gags. Great stuff.

The incest shit is getting really old.

To me, episode 6, “Juricksic Mort,” is the one that I thought was just OK. I guess I personally prefer the eps that focus on the family dynamics more.

So far. this season is got me bummed out. I'm not ready to say it's jumped the shark, but it's starting to feel like the kinds of episodes you'd get when a series jumps the shark. Was reading an article about why there are so many incest jokes in this series, and it mentioned that the creator stepped back this season a bit and let others handle more of the show creation... I wonder if that's why things seem kind of *meh*
Not sure that's the best idea to be honest.
Something else to keep in mind: Dan Harmon has apparently taken a slight step back from the show this season, letting "younger writers who are fans of the show" have more control over everything that's going on.

I liked it. Had a real Futurama vibe to it. They didn't really stick the landing, but the concept was nice and sci-fi ish.

Really enjoyed the last episode. The idea of the dinosaurs was clever. For some reason, the meteor screaming as it flew to Mars had me cracking up.

Wow, Adult Swim cutting ties with Roiland and recasting the voice. Not sure how I feel about that. Might just be time to kill it. Wonder if Hulu follows their lead with Solar Opposites.

Ugh, this is why we can't have nice things. Hopefully they find a person/people that can do as good an impression as the replacement Cleveland does on Family Guy. As for the storylines, we'll see. It sounds like Roiland and Harmon were a Yin and Yang situation when it comes to the writing and story. Hopefully the writers can make up for the loss.

Roiland was cleared of charges today. https://tvline.com/2023/03/22/justin...tor-statement/
I don't watch Rick and Morty, but I thought this was newsworthy.

I wonder if they’re going to stick with keeping Roiland out or if they’re going to ask him to come back to the show.

He wasn't just fired just because of that criminal charge. Nice try, though. He is at a minimum a creep, and at worst, a potential sex offender.

I'm not defending him, because I don't know... I only know what I read -- which was basically he's guilty --- and yet, he was not. How do YOU know he's a creep and sex offender? Did you read that or do you have access to real records?

Story from a month ago. He was pretty much despised by everyone who worked on the show and reportedly his only contribution to the show since the third season was the voice work.
