The rules have been that personal cel phones are to be left at home. The camera crew have emergency use phones on them.

There have been instances where emergencies have come up and producers allow racers to speak with family. One team was allowed a video call when a family member at home was diagnosed with cancer.

Those two identical South Korean twins. They were separated at birth and both adopted by Jewish parents. They HAD to be part of that same Jewish adoption agency involved in the Three Identical Strangers story, right? That would be too huge of a coincidence otherwise.

Finally got around to watching the last episode. I have no idea why that one needed to be 1.5 hours. There was nothing extra interesting happening.

I think Survivor wanted an hour and half episode so TAR had to pad out this episode.

I guess I might be in the minority but I wouldn't have minded Claire and Rex Ryan having even more yodeling scenes.

The mega-leg used to be called a double length leg I think. It’s OK with me.

What wasn’t OK with me was all these people who knew they were going to be on the show and didn’t bother to learn how to drive a stick! Have they ever seen the show before?

Liked it better when they use the "keep on racing" at the pitstop instead of this mega leg. Think that adds more urgency to stress to the leg because they don't know what will happen at the mat. This whole leg was, oh we have time, there are more things to do to catch up.

edit: spelling

I'd like to see the gal with rainbow-colored dreadlocks go next. I didn't like her spouting her new age BS at her partner while he was having trouble driving a stick shift: "It's just a machine, and machines can be manipulated" or some garbage like that. The scenes for next week imply the tables have turned, and she's the one stressing out over some task.

Never ceases to amaze.

Pretty lame episode since you knew it was going to be a double-episode from the start.

She may be the contestant who annoys me the most in the entire history of the show. Practically everything that comes out of her mouth irritates me.

I'm loving the South Korean twins. They are my fave to win at this point. Clear, level headed and smart!

Great to see a team like them do well instead of a young athletic alpha male team which is who usually ends up leading the pack.

This year the show seems to have decided against including that kind of team, sorry Marcus and Michael, you ain't it.

There haven't really been any out-and-out villains on this show in a while... like Brachel, or Jonathan and Victoria, or the Weaver family.

Man the anatomy challenge irritated the hell out of me. Itís not fair of course, I had a whole semester of Gross Anatomy in med school and live it every day now. But seeing these people not label the bones correctly after 4 or 5 attempts was making me pull my hair out.

It was driving me nuts trying to figure out who Claire looked like. Today it came to me ó sheís the spitting image of a younger Rhea Seehorn.

Re: The Amazing Race Season 34 (CBS) 9/21/22

Just caught up with last 2 episodes after coming back from vacation.

Hell yea! Twins completing an impressive mega leg. I thought that fashion detour would be more difficult.

And why did I just finish episode 4 and have no idea who Abby and Will are?

I COULD NOT stand the motivational team. All the BS that comes out of her mouth. Her husband is gonna snap one day.

Iím glad the daughter didnít quit. She would have regret that the next morning.

Re: The Amazing Race Season 34 (CBS) 9/21/22

I just watched the last two as well, which is a good way to do it for a mega leg.

The food challenge looked 100 times easier than the fashion memory challenge.

The quitters were really annoying, not just the daughter but the “I won’t sculpt because this is not what I do.” Glad one of them left at least.

I like the sister team, but they really don’t need to keep telling us how they’re making up for lost time.

So glad that rainbow colored idiot is out the race - she goes from berating her husband because he's having trouble with a stick shift to collapsing like a house of cards because she couldn't "manipulate" an object herself. She shouldn't be allowed within a mile of anyone's children and her husband should hop on the first thing smoking in the other direction.

As for the other quitter, what a great show to put on for your dad; I'm sure when he immigrated to this country he dreamed of one day having a soft, whiny child who quits at the first arm cramp of adversity.

I hate that that is who I picked as my team in the contest.

.
She is such a fraud. I hope schools that were thinking of hiring her see who she really is, a quitter that couldn't even motivate herself. Plus, did she really think the others really sculpted the figure and ALL were that good? Not very bright as well.

Cool location on the episode 5 leg - Petra, Jordan

5th place for my twins team.

Also, the daughter could have done the metal detector roadblock. She lacks the most basic confidence. Surprised she even signed up for this game, knowing full well what they were in for.

I remember my cousin went to Jordan in 2019 and I looked at her IG pics again. Breathtaking views and seems like a bucket place to visit. Apparently seeing female Asians there is rare, so the locals were taking pictures of her all the time, as if she was a celebrity (she is not)

Absolutely. I was surprised the show had never been there before.

the teaser at the end of the episode reveals that somebody will test positive for Covid next week. I fear a team could be eliminated by that.

To each his own, I guess. I thought the Scandanavian views were breathtaking a few episodes back. Sand? Not so much. Felt sorry for those puppies in the sweltering heat.

I may be in the minority, but I really miss the airport skullduggery. Having a chartered plane takes a lot of the fun out of the show.

It may be just me, though. I know a lot of people really didn't like the airport shenanigans of seasons past.

Iím sure when the pandemic is completely over worldwide and more areas are in an endemic, theyíll return to the regular flights. China is still sticking to the zero COVID rule, Taiwan relaxed itís entry requirements, Japan finally opened up. Itís going to be a while.

The charter plane is a solution to commercial flights being restricted or lessoned currently.
