Re: Better Call Saul (S6E13) - Series Finale - "Saul Gone" - 8/15/22
I watched both shows and think strongly that Succession S3 was better than BCS S6 E 1-7. That said I would have still voted for Odenkirk and Seehorn in the acting categories, as they did amazing work and are overdue.
But the real highlights of BCS Season 6 were Fun and Games and Saul Gone, and both were not eligible for Emmys in 2022. Hopefully they'll finally win something. The show is currently 0-for-46 and that's embarrassing.

Awards are nice, but I don't need outside validation that the shows I like are good.

Embarrassing that these people clearly have no idea what is objectively good despite being elevated to such a position to “judge”. Doesn’t mean viewers need validations. It means the judges are embarrassing themselves.

Funny that some thought BCS would get some Emmys simply for the body of work over the 6 seasons - and it appears it was shut out.
Just looked it up and noticed that it got a lot of nominations every season, but was surprised it didn't win a single Emmy the entire run of the show. I assumed it won something at some point. I guess not.
I think Succession deserves all the praise it gets (awards or not), but let's be honest - even if the past season of Succession sucked ass... it was still going to win. From what I recall, once the voters like a show - they continue to vote for it for a while even if it gets bad.

Ironically the one award that BCS would ABSOLUTELY win, Best Guest Actress, Drama for Carol Burnett, can't actually happen because according to the rules she appears in 50% or more of the S6, Part 2 episodes a d is therefore ineligible for consideration in the category.

anyone know when this comes out on DVD?
I missed two episodes and it is impossible to get them (legally) so I'm waiting to watch the entire season until I can do it all at once.
It's incredible to me that AMC is not allowed to rebroadcast them. Every other season is available on demand but for some reason they are not allowed to show them after the last marathon they did in mid August which my DVR did not catch for some reason.

Amazon shows 12/6 Blu-ray and DVD.
I would love to see 4K UHD complete series sets for this and Breaking Bad. I’m not into owning things digitally only even if they are downloadable.

Cool, but pricy.
EDIT-
Maybe just a placeholder, though. I see a one-star review, and it's a complaint about the price - $215 at time of their comment, only four days ago.

Unlike BB I don't see me ever revisiting this. While there were a couple standout episodes I generally dislike the way they went and really just can't get past that they never really explained Saul. On Succession vs. BCS I think Season 3 was far stronger than BCS. I still really like the series just have to put the last set of episodes out of mind. Sad that Carol Burnett couldn't have been nominated, she was exceptional.

I pretty much agree with you...and thanks to whoever told me about that Vudu deal...ended up getting the whole season for 6 bucks.
I enjoyed the ride but the second half of season 6 just didn't do it for me. I wish they could have told this in a more linear way. The jumping back and forth just took the momentum out of things for me. I did not have any trouble keeping track of the timelines while I was watching but to me, I think the transformation of Saul into Gene (who was like worst version of Saul) lost its impact because of all the jumping and then when we got to his big redemption moment I just didn't feel it.
I can tell from comments most others were totally on board and loved it so I guess its just me.
Agree with you on Carol, that was a fun role that she clearly didn't have to or need to do. As for the Emmy who cares, she's a legend!

Ugh. Not that I think Jennifer did a bad job, but her character became very annoying, and I can't fathom her beating Rhea.

Also Rhea may have had her vote split with Carol Burnett who was also nominated in the same category.

Wow. Why on earth would Carol be in the same category? A very minor guest appearance, at best. Sure, she did a great job, as usual, but for them to be nominated in the same category is insane.
