It was hard to tell if that was a bald cap on Cranston’s head or he was about to swim the 100m butterfly.
It’s not going to go down as an all time great finale, but it was fine.

I really liked that he came clean. A lifetime of taking the easy way out and not doing the right thing, and he finally let the good of Jimmy that we all knew he has deep down inside him come out. Definitely a sad ending, but I’m glad he didn’t go the opposite direction and end the show by making himself irredeemable.

It was solid. There weren't any big surprises, but it was done well. I really don't have much else to say. In some ways, I think that itself says a lot. When the back half of the season started, I would have expected a bigger reaction to the finale from me.

For those who don't remember, we were first introduced to Kim Wexler in S01E01 sharing a smoke with Jimmy in a dimly lit parking garage up against a concrete wall.

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed it. I'd like to think there will be a movie, but there certainly isn't any need for one.
There was one big disappointment, though:

It was a solid episode and solid finale.
Liked that Jimmy somewhat redeemed himself, in the same way that Walter came clean at the end. They both couldn't make everything right, but they did what they could.
The only thing I would've liked to see was Marie finding out that Walt/Jesse had no direct part in the deaths of Hank and Gomez. Also would've been good to see Skyler, but I guess there'd be no real reason for her to be there.
The season went differently than I thought, but it was definitely an interesting approach to it.

So as a yuuuge Lost fanboy, this morning I thought oh finale on 8/15…then he’s on a plane I totally thought it was going to be Oceanic Air.
It was good. Nice to see a goodbye scene for Jonathan Banks.

I mean it was good closure and I liked they redeemed Jimmy, but it was a pretty meh finale. I found it mildly amusing that they were able to basically track Jimmy and capture him in real time. That was pretty ridiculous. That looked like just some alley camera so there is zero chance in real life that they would be able to find him that quickly.

For as good as this show was, the Gene timeline was kind of a letdown. A letdown in the sense that everything preceding it was just so griping and so visually spectacular. I'm not knocking the ended we got by any means. But when you compare it to episodes this season like Nacho's death & Howard's death & Lalo's death... the last three episodes just felt... there. Plus I did not enjoy the black and white.
But the ending we got was pretty great as far as character development. It was the ending that was earned. Saul was just Saul-ing his way through everything until he found out Kim was in real legal jeopardy, civilly. That kind of made something click in him and it was his Walt / I did it for me moment. It didn't really do anything for Kim other than absolve her of the guilt she was feeling in driving Jimmy further down the Saul rabbit hole.
Him talking a 190 year sentence down to 7, just to blow it up in the end is exactly what Slippin Jimmy would do. It's fitting. He's now behind bars for the rest of his life and won't be able to hurt the people he loves anymore. Not that there's any left. From a story stand point, it's great story telling. It's not as dynamic as the Breaking Bad finale. But it's the ending fitting of the character this show fleshed out.

Very understated, but good finale that was definitely "well earned" as Vince Gilligan said. Jimmy had it right in his grasp. Working down to a 7.5 year sentence after all he did would have been his last great scam. Instead, he has a change of heart and does what he can to hopefully save Kim from financial disaster of a civil suit while getting what he deserves.
Losing the diamonds in the dumpster and being caught reminded me of Nedry dropping the Barbasol can in the mud and getting eaten by a dinosaur in Jurassic Park. Their greed was their undoing.

I assumed that's what the show was going for, but doesn't quite make sense to me. How does Saul coming clean about what he did with Walter White affect Kim confessing to their long-standing attacks against Howard to ruin him? I know Saul said he made up some stuff about Kim in order to get her to come to the sentencing, but those lies he takes back don't affect her confession, which even without Howard dying is enough for her to be sued civilly.

The last time we see Saul and Kim together they are in the same place we first see them, standing against a wall sharing a cig.
The black and white photography wasn't nearly as stunning as the rest of the series.
The show was so padded and drawn out, they could have easily done it in five, if not four, seasons.

The scene with Chuck was especially poignant for me.
Walters's bald cap was truly terrible.

You know, I really liked it. Though I was kind of hoping for a light sentence, this makes sense. Jimmy becomes Jimmy again and comes clean. Still not sure if this helps Kim at all, but I did love the final cigarette. And loved seeing Saul respected and thriving behind bars. That kind of made sense. I thought it was a very fitting end.
This is coming from someone who wasn’t crazy about all of Felina and how close to a happy ending Walt got, given all his crimes.

She was posing as a lawyer to get to spend time with Jimmy, using an ID without an expiration date. She wasn’t really acting as a lawyer. I do hope she continues in Legal Aid though, that was a nice touch.

If she wasn't a lawyer then I am not sure what the point of Jimmy coming clean was. It was already noted that charges were not going to be filed.
