I really enjoyed episode 2 as well. D
I'm right there with you. I'm damn near 57 and I dug both episodes a lot.

i think you knew what I meant. Bright as in not dark and dreary, which the show isn’t, but color is only in spurts and nothing about it screams watch me, except to kids and teens. That’s all. My opinion. Done.

Same problem... Also with the last Kenobi episode. I switched to my AirPods for Atmos audio and it was crystal clear.

Enjoying the show... not really the target audience. Watching mostly for the larger MCU tie-in/The Marvels upcoming film.

I'm in my fifties and am enjoying the show immensely. Saying that adults wouldn't (or shouldn't) enjoy this show is ridiculous. There are people out there who would say the same thing about a grown adult geeking out about Marvel and Star Wars films in general. Who cares, watch and enjoy what you want, and if you don't think the show is for you then fine, move on, don't bitch about it.

Re: Ms. Marvel (S1E02) - “Crushed” - 6/15/22

I liked this one better than the first. It’s cute in points and is certainly a different sort of superhero show. But I still don’t really enjoy it much. I still find it silly and meandering. I guess we’re still in origin story, but without stakes or really adversity yet, it’s hard for me to get invested in the story.
And so much extraneous stuff. I get they want to show the Muslim community, great. But a high school girl running for a spot on the board of the local Mosque? Come on, who thought that was a good B story arc?

Yeah, I watched two episodes and this is too high school for me. That's okay, everything doesn't have to be for me.

Really? Wouldn't 13-17 be by definition Teen? Don't you have to be an adult to be a Young Adult?

What is considered young adults for books?
Middle-grade fiction refers to books written for readers between the ages of 8 and 12, while young adult fiction refers to books written for readers roughly between the ages of 12 and 18.Sep 29, 2021

Enjoying it for what it is. IMO, it's made well all around. Not sure what some of you were expecting with a show you knew was centered around teenage characters in the MCU.

"This isn't what I expected after watching Euphoria!"

But yeah, it doesn't have to be for everyone, and I hope these articles about how it's got the lowest total viewership of MCU stuff in the first five days or whatever are just informational and not actually affecting decisions because they need to allow room for this kind of content to breathe (IMHO). As most know even though I'm a huge fan I usually am way behind in watching stuff, but I'm making it a point to keep up with this partially because it's something my kids can watch with me and partially because I want to help with the ratings for things that my kids can watch with me, if that makes any sense.

I do find one central theme a bit odd: Like she's being told by everyone to grow up and not keep your head in the clouds and she's like "nope" but it's kind of easier to do when you have actual superpowers and you're not just imagining them. It seems like the kind of thing they'll address, especially as her powers/fame/etc have drawbacks, though.

You wink but that's exactly why I added "in the MCU" to the end.

I mean Euphoria is set in the Spider-man universe, right?

Of course we're joking but seriously, try to think of a series that's in a high school setting that's "for adults" that doesn't involve oversexualizing the characters (which this obviously doesn't do)? And yes I realize that a dude backflipped into a pool shirtless.

That's how they should handle X-Men: Euphoria set in the MCU. Wall-to-wall weird sex and weirder drugs.

That's basically what Hickman's run is like.

Re: Ms. Marvel (S1E02) - “Crushed” - 6/15/22

Yeah, it's like they're having a 24/7 rave on Krakoa. Everybody's high and getting laid all of the time, and Wolverine, Jean, and Cyclops are having three-ways. But's its still PG-rated.

I have thought that Krakoa would be a good way to introduce the X-Men into the MCU without any multiverse shenanigans. Just say the mutants have always been there, and that Professor X is able to collect them and bring them to Krakoa before they're discovered. Could even retcon Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver into being Magneto's kids.

This show taught me that only the men in the Muslim church get the good seats.

I’m still enjoying this. I like the animation stuff in the scenes. Learning some cultural things too.

Reminds me of a mash-up of Star Girl and Into the Spider-Verse with a sprinkle of Katie Mitchell from The Mitchells vs the Machines. I rather enjoy it..

Harmless enough show.

Is it Civil War or Endgame level MCU? uhhhhh, neeeoooo.... but I've been enjoying watching the 2 episodes thus far with my 13 and 9 year old children.

I just can't see this particular character teaming up in future theatrical releases, especially fighting some new Thanos level big bad.

I've determined that the Episode 1 "Blinding Lights" MCU logo variant is now my favorite, out of any MCU TV series or movie. I keep watching it on youtube

Re: Ms. Marvel (S1E02) - “Crushed” - 6/15/22

I think the show is fine. It's not amazing but I can see the broad appeal of the show. I do like how it's shining a positive light on the Muslim community and how they made her an awkward teen that still has issues even after finding her superpowers. I don't see myself watching this closely but I will catch episodes and watch as I have time.
