Half of my friends/acquaintances have already binged the whole season. I won’t be reactivating my Netflix subscription until October 1, but this will be the first show I watch.

I'm now through 7 episodes. It was a nice surprise to see Jessica (Robyn Lively) again. I guess she's Amanda's cousin and was the one who introduced her and Daniel. Once Daniel mentioned that Amanda and the kids were in Ohio, then I remembered the tie-in because Jessica mentioned in KK3 that she was from there. Loved the Mike Barnes appearance and to see that he's chilled out from his psycho teenage days.
when he charged Chozen $2K for the couch.
That was also a good job as de-aging Johnny in the Kreese therapy session.
when Daniel fucked him over.
Since this season is a break from the tournament and they mentioned a big international tournament that Silver wants to win, I assume that's where the story will move for a 6th season. But, I am not done with the season yet.

I just finished the season. That fight scene between Chozen and Silver was pretty badass.
It did get a little over the top like the big brawl at the high school in a previous season. And the writing for these episode did get a little silly at times. But nevertheless it was still a very entertaining end. To be honest, it could have worked as a series ender had it not ended with
I guess with the 6th season they could still take:
I did notice something. The main creative team of the show, Hurwitz, Schlossberg and Heald, did not write or co-write a single episode this season. I guess Netflix gave them enough money to hire a new writing staff and they just supervise. I know those guys are extremely busy with other projects.

I’m through 4 episodes and the show is starting to lose my interest. It’s become so over the top with the storylines. Season 1 was great because it showed us the lives of Johnny and Daniel all these years later. Now we’re 100% back to nothing but karate craziness. Why does Daniel care what Cobra Kai is doing? He’s a successful business owner now but cares more about what a bunch of kids who aren’t his are doing.
Bring the show back to Johnny/Daniel buddy cop adventures and cut most/all the teen and karate drama. Won’t happen but I can wish.

I'm on episode four. I really really dislike Daniel, he's an arsehole. I rarely hate characters this much.

Episode 2 was really bad. A whole new level of cringe and awful writing, even for this show. I hope it gets better from there.

Just finished the current season. What a snooze fest. What next karate fights in wheel chairs?

Loved it - the show is a blast and it’s fun to see all of the connections to the movie. Never thought I’d want to revisit Karate Kid III
I’m assuming next season will be at the world tournament - it’ll be cool if we get to see fighters from other countries ala Bloodsport.
For a show about a bunch of old men, they still look and move pretty good. Bring on Season 6!

It's getting increasingly ridiculous but darn it, I love this show for embracing the '80s cheese aesthetic.
I do think/hope Season 6 might be the last, though, as it feels like they're really reaching the bottom of the well for bringing back old "stars" from the first few movies (unless anyone is REALLY holding out for Hilary Swank) and frankly, a season where the older kids are about to graduate and move on seems like a good way to kind of tie a knot on it all.

I think it's a really fun ride and mostly enjoyed it. Nice to see Barnes again. I know they need a villain again, but the whole "Kreese escapes prison" thing didn't really work for me. I hope the final season deals more with the international tournament than him.

I do like how they brought Robyn Lively's character back to the show as Danny's sister-in-law. It was much more subtle way of doing it rather than having to come up with a contrived explanation as to why Daniel would need to go visit and interact with her.
It seems like they've had most of the side characters from the first three movies appear at this point. I'm guessing next season we'll see Hilary Swank's character make an appearance. I wonder if she will be a judge or one of the executives involved in the international tournaments that are like to occur next season. She could be somebody that Daniel never met before and Mr. Myagi may never have mentioned her to Daniel previously.
I did like that they had all three of Daniel's adversaries together and teaming up with Daniel. I just hope they don't end up with Kreese or Silver joining up with him in any future seasons. some of them just need to remail villains. I suppose Michael Ironside could appear in the next season teaming up with Kreese as he was an Army vet as well.

I just hope that they will be able to creatively bring the entire story to a reasonable conclusion, and not just keep milking this franchise dry and drag out even more contrivances because it's really good money that Netflix needs and everybody gets along so well.

I loved the finale. It was so absurd and so over the top and I loved it. They just lean into the ridiculousness of it all. Can't wait for the next season.

Actually I agree, Deb. Dick move from Daniel. Prior to this season, I felt Kreese could have a redemption arc, and there’s still a chance. He was honest with Tory and genuinely cared about her.
Now that she’s on the “good” side, she can speak up for him next season.

By the way by both I meant Daniel and Johnny. I like Kreese
I'm not usually into bad boys, either, but he just has this irresistible charm even though he could be my dad.
