It seems odd though that all the other VAs are already on board and he's the only holdout. If it were several of them doing this, then I'd suspect that Hulu was trying to cheap out or something, but if it's just him then maybe he's asking too much.

Anyone can do a bender voice, including West, so this is no big deal.
Look forward to the new season either way!

Yeah, I even saw Mark Hamill saying on twitter that he wouldn't take the job if offered.

I think it's a big deal. Bender is a pretty iconic character. That's like recasting Homer Simpson. It might work if they recast and write him off the show in the first episode.

The holdout just rejoined the cast. Guess his little social media bitch fest worked. Hopefully the other cast members got that raise, and he is the most easily replaceable

Holy shit dude, voiceover artists are not always well paid. He has made that character what it is and he’s well within his rights to make sure he’s taken care of, along with his costars.

Never forget that Reese Witherspoon was paid $6M to narrate seven 8-minute episodes of a Quibi documentary series, for the company her husband worked for.
If DiMaggio thinks he deserves to be paid more for his vocal work given his importance to the series, I don't doubt that he probably does.

Glad he is on board and comfortable with the arrangement. It's kind of mind-boggling to live in a society that preaches about the importance of making bank but the minute someone stands up and says they are not getting a fair shake people shit on them. I see no harm in negotiating your best deal and with seeing someone walk away they are not happy with the arrangement. It's a free country.

Great news, I'm very happy that they worked out a deal and he's now onboard.

He felt that he and the OTHER voice actors were getting underpaid. Glad he stood up for himself and them. And I'm glad he's back onboard. He's easily my favorite character on the show and I wasn't interested in watching it without him.

I would have watched it either way, as Futurama is one of my favorite shows, but it's better that he's now involved. I do wonder if the voice change would have been addressed in-show, had DiMaggio not come back.

I did think it would be amusing if they had rotating actors doing his voice each episode and just completely ignore it in-show. Lauren Tom would be especially amusing doing it.

Sounds like he didn’t get anything and just begged for his job back. Hulu had a plan if he didn’t return (weeks went by trying to get him to rejoin the snow).
this isn’t The Simpsons. It’s a niche fan show that was canceled by Fox and did meh on Comedy Central. What the hell did he expect for what amount to 2-3 weeks of work?

The plan was to use use rotating guest stars if they didn’t get him which I thought would be an amusing schtick.
Even with him back, it’d still be fun to see them do that here and there.

That dynamic between talent and studio was fascinating. Because he's not such a big star that he's irreplaceable, but it's a cult show and he's part of the reason it's popular with the small demographic that it attracts. So who has the upper hand here?
Well clearly in this case it was Disney, but they didn't want to face a backlash with the very people they want excited about the show. I guess just a little public appreciation was all that was needed. That's probably best for everyone.

Whatever. He's back. I might watch it when it comes back if its any good. Didn't follow much during the Comedy Central years.

Awesome. There have been some lesser shows and movies. But many of them were amazing, including the later ones. I hope they had time to write some great stuff.
I really wanted to like Disenchantment but had a hard time enjoying it.
The final episode sorta reset the show.
