Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. Hulu’s limited series “The Dropout,” the story of Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried) and Theranos, is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye?
“The Dropout” stars Amanda Seyfried as Elizabeth Holmes and Naveen Andrews as Sunny Balwani. The limited series also includes guest stars Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kate Burton, Michel Gill, LisaGay Hamilton, William H. Macy, Elizabeth Marvel, Laurie Metcalf, Dylan Minnette, Alan Ruck, Sam Waterston, Michaela Watkins and more.
The series is executive produced by showrunner Elizabeth Meriwether, Liz Heldens, Liz Hannah, Katherine Pope, Rebecca Jarvis, Victoria Thompson and Taylor Dunn. Michael Showalter directs multiple episodes and also serves as an executive producer along with his Semi-Formal Productions producing partner Jordana Mollick. The series comes to Hulu from Searchlight Television and 20th Television. This is Searchlight Television’s first production.

My mom works for a company that turned down an investment request from Elizabeth Holmes.
Holmes was a few degrees of separation from the CEO of the company, so crises averted.
I'm definitely checking this out.

Sepinwall really liked it. Sounds good.
Halfway through the documentary and could totally tell who Laurie Metcalf was playing when ai saw the interview with the Stanford professor who made a face when talking about Elizabeth. 😂

Pretty good. I wonder what they based this on. After the series is over I might go back and re-watch the doc. Seyfried is doing a terrific job.

The documentary was decent, so I'll watch this.
I really want to see if Seyfried goes long periods without blinking - like Holmes does on many interviews/apperances.

Caught up with the 3 episodes. Good so far. Lots of recognizable character actors. But took me a while to recognize Michael Ironside.
I was informed the Theranos sales pitch binder was 4 inches thick (full of lies!), so I’m guessing I’m the only who noticed the prop sales material they were passing around the pitch meetings, which were just a few pages of paper haha

Enjoying this so far. I kind of wish I had waited a little longer as the first three episodes flew by and I already want more!
I barely recognized the guy from Lost as her boyfriend. Really enjoying seeing Seyfried bring the crazy to this role. She is pretty amazing just staring into the camera and looking nuts.

I ended up watching "The Inventor" on HBO MAX, which is the documentary they made about her and Theranos It was good. I don't have the patience for a podcast, so that worked out better for me.
