Between this and For All Mankind, Apple TV has a stacked end of year.

Will this be up at midnight or is this airing at a specific time tomorrow night like Disney shows have been doing?

For some reason Apple kept saying on the app that this was due on Friday. So I (finally) watched Spirited on Thursday instead. Oh, well. One day late won't kill me.

Just watched both episodes. Pretty good so far, but the YA shit with the main leads is a tad annoying. I guess that's the "legacy" stands for.

They want to prevent the public from becoming aware of the true scope of the threat from critters like Godzilla and King Kong, okay...I can see that, but maybe there are indications of a space/alien origin for some of the MUTOs in the files and Monarch wants that kept quiet, but again...the genie is technically out of the bottle already.
Anyway, I am along for the adventure, and some of the scenes in both episodes would have also been impressive if I had seen them on a large theater screen, kudos to the special effects team.

My guess is that the public isn't going to be too happy when they find out this was known about for 50+ years and something could have been done before?
I haven't watched Episode 2 yet.
Forgot about the cab driver . . . I had to laugh when he said, "I have a podcast!"

I enjoyed all aspects of the show, the flashbacks and modern scenes with the son and daughter of the man who hid all the Monarch tapes, it helps that the actors playing the now grown up kids are well cast. My big question is that in a world that knows about Godzilla and MUTOS (putting aside that Uber type driver claiming it was a hoax) why is Monarch so desperate to chase down the files?

Also, I am confused as to the characterization of Monarch here. In the movies, its members are dismissed as quacks (despite having essentially their own G.I. Joe style military in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which was latter downgraded to a second string FEMA in Godzilla vs Kong). However in this show, they are seemingly the Illuminati, with a retirement village/home confinement facility for problem individuals.

I'm sure they'll incorporate some monster action in every episode, but I don't necessarily need that - I'll gladly take a well constructed show with interesting characters. (think the early LOST episodes) Hoping things improve a bit...

I watched the 1st episode last night. That was cool how they tied this into Kong: Skull Island with Goodman appearing again as Randa. I assume the SF sequence also tied into Godzilla 2014 as well. Pretty cool they are tying this into the same universe of movies,
And I think they did a good job with the timeline changes. And I didn't realize that Cate is the granddaughter of Bill Randa until I looked up the credits and saw Anders Holm was young Bill Randa.
I saw Tamlyn Tomita was listed in the credits, but didn't recall seeing her until I looked it up and she's the voice of Cate's Mom.
I plan to watch episode 2 later today.

That dragon/gargoyle at the end of episode 2 was pretty damn cool. Sorry I don't know the official name of that creature is.
I'm not sure how old Lee Shaw is supposed to be in 2015. If his younger self was say 22 in 1952, that was 63 years ago and he would be around 85 in the show's present day. Russell is only in his early 70s. I guess they aren't really paying attention to age.
Other than that minor detail, I enjoyed the 1st 2 episodes.

Yeah, I had to shrug off Russell's age. As for the bat thing, never seen it before (other than in the opening credits). When it was clawing the ship, I was hoping it'd be Zilla from the Roland Emmerich flick, last seen being destroyed by Big G in Final Wars.
Speaking of Gojira, I chuckled when the cabbie said the San Francisco attack from the 2014 movie was faked using CGI. And it was also funny to see Gojira not attack Japan during the drill.

Any word as to whether this show will incorporate a young version of Dr. Serizawa Ishirō(or his father, Eiji)?

Besides, it wasn't a surprise for the cultures who had been reporting it for generations. I like the angle they are taking with Randa being a cryptozoologist exploring myths and urban legends.
