Yeah okay I clearly jumped the gun with the Kingpin assumption.

But, I still stand by my original comment from last night. It was good and I liked a lot of it, but I didn't find it amazing. It was a nice lighter toned MCU show.

I will watch a 2nd season with Steinfeld as the lead should they go that route. I did think the action in this show was a lot more fun than Falcon and the Winter soldier for something that takes place in the current world. I thought Falcon's action was mostly boring.

I was pretty pleased with the ending. I’m looking forward to more Kingpin in Echo and beyond. Plus I hope those main two Tracksuit guys are still around.
If this is the end of Clint, it was a good start to retirement.

1. Wandavision
1.5. Loki
2. Hawkeye

8. Falcon and Winter Soldier
9. What If?

I don’t know I’d we can expect a new Hawkeye show, hasn’t there been buzz of a Young Avengers show?

At the end of this ep Clint and Kate were workshopping names for her and then Clint said he has an idea and the titles immediately popped onscreen with “Hawkeye” first.

This is what I had been wondering about... they could get a pretty good stable together.
I wonder if it would be too diluted with they are building both a Dark Avengers team and a Young Avengers team.
Young Avengers:
Spoiler:
Kate Bishop as Hawkeye (from Hawkeye)
Cassie Lang as Stature (from Ant-Man)
Elijah Bradley as Patriot (from Falcon and the Winter Soldier)
Tommy and Billy as Wiccan and Speed (from WandaVision... if they were in fact real)
America Chavez as Ms. America (from the upcoming Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness)
Kid Loki (from Loki)
Harley Keener as Iron Lad (from Iron Man 3 and seen again at the end of Avengers: Endgame)
Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel (from the upcoming Ms. Marvel series)
Riri Williams as Ironheart (from the upcoming Ironheart series)
... and others.

... and as far as Dark Avengers:
Spoiler:
Madame Hydra (Leader)
John Walker as USAgent (from Falcon and the Winter Soldier)
Yelena Belova as Black Widow (from Black Widow and Hawkeye)
Emil Blonsky as Abomination (from The Incredible Hulk)
... and others like White Vision, War Machine, and possibly Scorpion (since they didn't use him the Spider-Man movies).

I think that the name Hawkeye will stick.

Re: Hawkeye (S1E06) - Finale - “So This Is Christmas” - 12/22/21

Wow, the finale was tonally all over the place. The goofiest stuff outside of Ant-Man and Guardians juxtaposed with serious emotional moments. Can't say it worked for me. The Kingpin stuff was also incredibly offputting in having him cartoonishly strong and having one of the most obvious "mysteries" concerning his fate. It had have been better if they simply showed you he survived (because he obviously did).
1. Falcon and Winter Soldier
2. Wandavision
3. What If...
4. Hawkeye
5. Loki

I had a blast with this. My favorite so far of the series. Just tons of fun. Loved seeing D'Onofrio return as Kingpin. The Christmas setting was perfect. I liked the supporting cast. It didn't overstay its welcome with 6 episodes. The Broadway number alone deserves an Emmy. Brilliant.

That was a great finale. Loki is still my favorite of the new D+ MCU series, but this isn’t far behind. I’ve liked them all really. I love the holiday setting for Hawkeye. I’ll definitely be adding it to my holiday viewing list next year too.

I loved it! For me, this was the most "fun" of the D+ series. I'm not going to rate this with the others because I liked them all on different levels. (But I will say that What If wasn't my favorite)

Kate, you're my partner. Your mess is my mess.

I thought this was pretty good. I want to see more teaming up with Kate & Yelena. They had great chemistry. Marvel loves some elevator scenes.

They have a short outtake reel under extras now. Kind of ho hum with music over the dialog.

I have loved all of the D+ shows but this was my favorite tone. I’d watch a show of just Kate and Yelena on adventures.

I’ve always enjoyed Renner as Clint and I loved Hawkeye just getting beat up during Christmastime. A real “Die Hard” vibe I can get behind.

So Laura is Mockingbird then? In the comic books Agent 19 is Mockingbird so I guess that’s a title used in SHIELD similar to Black Widow for the russian spies

For everyone saying Kingpin is still alive, I have to say it's possible that she actually did kill him, and they didn't show it because, well, Disney, and a brutal execution like that doesn't exactly go along with the lighter tone of the series.

Given the less-than-classy Hawaiian shirt, apparent super strength, and the fact that Secret Invasion began in the comics with the killing of a criminal boss, I would not be surprised if this Kingpin was a Skrull.

I still think they're not killing a major villain offscreen and having a character getting her own series perform a vigilante execution.

This. No way Kingpin is dead, he's an important Marvel villain. If you didn't see him die, he didn't die.

My family and I loved the series and thought it was a great finale. When I first heard that there was going to be a Hawkeye show, I thought "Yawn!", but boy was I wrong and I'm glad I was.

I actually think I enjoyed this series the most from beginning to end. Other shows had higher moments and episodes but as a sustained series, personally this was the best to me.

The scene was lifted out of the comics with Maya shooting Kingpin and blinding him, not killing him. No guarantee that's where they're going (although I'm willing to bet they are), but I agree with you that since we didn't see him die, he's not dead.

Re: Hawkeye (S1E06) - Finale - “So This Is Christmas” - 12/22/21

Finished watching the show today and it was fun overall. Way better than Winter Soldier & Falcon. It was also basically Hailee Steinfeld's show for the most part. My only gripe was about the tracksuit henchmen and their overuse of the word "Bro." That got old real quick.

It was cool to see Kingpin again.

Finished it up tonight as well. Loved the series, and Yelena is pretty much perfect - hope they find her a way to her own show or to a movie.

I'd rank it:
Loki & Hawkeye as A-
Wandavision B
Falcon & Winter Soldier D (I didnt like this one at all)

Hilarious that anyone would think Kingpin was dead. They show him get shot by an arrow, hit by a car, and then blown up and get up and walk away. I doubt they spent the whole episode showing how indestructible he is just to have him get shot off screen and be done with.

Steinfeld was fine but Pugh is just wonderful. It was great seeing D'Onofrio again. The show was all over the place but it was fun.

Subject to change

Wandavision
Loki
Hawkeye
What If
Falcon and WS

Re: Hawkeye (S1E06) - Finale - “So This Is Christmas” - 12/22/21

When Kingpin was talking to Kate's Mom, they seemed to be doing some forced perspective work, making him seem MUCH bigger than her. Which I thought was cool, cause you know, Kingpin is supposed to be huge. (Even though I loved him in the Daredevil series as he was). But then they abandoned that in the scenes with Maya and at the car. So maybe my eyes were just playing tricks on me in the earlier scene...

Overall, I loved this show. I did have low to zero expectations going in - but I think it excelled across the board. Renner, Steinfeld, Pugh were all excellent. The supporting characters were ok to good - will be interesting to see if Maya can carry her own show.

Man, that look Kate gave when Clint said "You're my partner!" - seriously so good. Watched that exchange a few times.
