The Witcher: Blood Origin (Netflix) - prequel series - S: Michelle Yeoh - premieres 12/25/22
Every story has a beginning. Witness the untold history of the Continent with The Witcher: Blood Origin, a new prequel series set in an elven world 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time - exploring the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “Conjunction of the Spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one. The Witcher: Blood Origin will release in 2022, only on Netflix.

Set in an elven world 1200 years before the time of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell a tale lost to history: the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that led to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one. This four-part prequel series premieres on Netflix on December 25.

I'm in for Michelle Yeoh. Was that Minnie Driver at the end of the trailer?

I love Michelle Yeoh but this looks bad. Even if I ignore the lore from the books, this still looks bad. And cheap too. I'm guessing this has the same writing team from the main series?

No interest in this after they let Henry leave the main series. How hard is it to respect the source material enough to hang onto your star that has made that a stipulation?

I "liked" it but apparently people hated it. Seemed to sort of likely set up the Season 3 plot though.

So dislike this for being poorly written instead.

I watched this all last night and thought it was badass. I saw that it was being review bombed on IMDB and the score got dragged down to 3.9. I think it's at a 4 right now.
What can I say, I hate that Cavill is gone but I'm not upset enough that I will not give this story a shot. It's only 4 episodes and the production is on par with the main series. It does NOT look cheap contrary to what some are saying out there. I am curious about there only being 4 episodes when it appears to have been a 6 episode order from its inception. The first episode is an 1hr+ and the final 3 are 40mins+. I wonder if they're saving the final episodes as an actual lead-in to Witcher S3 premiere? It would make some sense if they did that way since this prequel is 1000+ years in the past.
The 4K DV / Atmos was great!

2 episodes in and I like this more than the original show.
Better characters, much better action and an actual fucking plot.

I thought it was really entertaining too. Was stoked to finally see the conjunction of the spheres, that was pretty cool.

For those that watched this and the main series, and read the books. Is this miniseries akin to S1E3 - "Betrayer Moon" and S2E1 - "A Grain of Truth" of the main series, in that they loosely adapt the source material but stay true to the spirit of the books? If so, I'll give this miniseries a shot.
You do realize the so-called "purists" don't like the main series, right? So your tastes align with them in that regard.
