Re: The Flash (CW) -- Season 8 -- Premieres 11/16/21
So I had the last 2 episodes of the Armageddon arc that I had to finish because the season was going to resume in about a week.
I finished them up the other night. I stand by my earlier comment, I did not care for this crossover arc. They brought in Mia Queen for the final episode because they tried to resume that storyline with William being kidnapped in the Green Arrow and the Canaries backdoor pilot that never got picked up. Sure, Katherine McNamara is nice to look at, but she didn't really add anything. And William is still missing, so I don't know if and when they will ever resolve that.
Alex from Supergirl and Batwoman being brought in for a fake future flash forward sequence didn't work for me.
and Damien Dahrk turned good and died again after he managed to get his daughter back.
According to Futon Critic, it looks like the season will be 18 episodes total, so we're getting 13 new episodes for this final stretch. I know many here simply don't care or have bailed from this show due to various reasons. But, I've invested 8 seasons in this show and like Arrow I'm going to finish it out.

Re: The Flash (CW) -- Season 8 -- Premieres 11/16/21
I bought (and we enjoyed) the first 4 seasons of the CW Flash series so I went ahead and bought seasons 5, 6, and 7 when they came out, but The Flash hasn't come back up in the rotation so we haven't watched the 3 newer seasons yet. I'm starting to wonder if I made a mistake by trying to continue with this series based on all the upcoming crossover episodes and the fact that it's starting to sound like it might have turned into kiddie schlock (according to reviews I've read). I guess I'll see when we rewatch this series....
Are those crossover episodes standalone? Or do you have to have seen the other series to understand what is going on? I know there was one in one of the other seasons we've watched (don't remember which episode) that had us scratching our heads trying to figure out what in the hell it was all about...
And now we have Season 8 and even Season 9.

The CW has handed early renewals to a large portion of its scripted schedule including The Flash.
The renewal of flagship series The Flash for a ninth season, making it the network’s longest running Arrowverse series, taking over that mantle from Arrow, which ended after eight seasons, was paved earlier this year with the news that star Grant Gustin was in talks for a new deal. There’s no word from The CW yet as to whether season nine will be The Flash’s swansong.

Yeah it sure has been an excellent sleep aide.
The bad guys are just not good.
I couldn’t figure out if Barry was calling last weeks villain Gold Face or Gold Fish.
Havent watched this week yet.

Well I’m still watching but I’m three shows behind live.
Episode 8
Joe’s wife, Estelle? Well she has a power tht she can use that would prove a guy is innocent.
Too bad for him Stella can’t use her power because that would be unethical.
Are you kidding me?
That’s the point of being a good guy and having powers.
You help the innocent.

So they go to the adoption agency to get that girl's mother's name, but there's a no-contact order. Good thing one of them is rich, meaning that silly rules don't apply to her, and they get the no-contact order overruled. With mom's name now in-hand, the girl now wonders, "What if my mom doesn't want to see me?" No shit! She put a goddamn no-contact order on the file! That's what that's for!
This show is so stupid, it's got fully into so-bad-it's-good territory, especially with that ending.

You would get drunk very quickly if you took a shot every time someone mentions "team Flash" in the episodes. I liked Frost when she first appeared but they've run the character into the ground, beyond Panabaker's limited range.

Jesse L. Martin has signed on to a new NBC series.
He will appear in the 9th season, but only as a guest star.
Story also says that it's not official yet, but the 9th season could be an abbreviated final season.

A few years ago, I would have said "Please, no" and meant please don't end the show. Now, that same "Please, no" means please don't bring this back for a 9th season. Kill it now. This show has been on the steady decline for several years now.

An entire month and several new episodes and it looks like no one really cares.
It's fine yet for whatever reason I'm more on board with most shows keeping it to thirteen episodes per season. The stuff with Iris is already feeling dragged out.
A ninth season is fine as they need to plan ahead for a good final. Doubt they should risk trying for an even ten seasons.

Re: The Flash (CW) -- Season 8 -- Premieres 11/16/21
Unfortunately, a few seasons back I drifted away from The Flash (and Arrowverse shows in general), but my understanding is that The Flash's wife has a "time" disease in the current storyline, and since I recently got caught up on the entire run of Legends of Tomorrow which ended with a cliffhanger, I would love to see the Legends show up in The Flash to help cure The Flash's wife of this time disease.
Anything involving time shenanigans should be an excuse to get the Legends on TV for a last hurrah and a bit of closure. Not to mention that I noticed that there were a lot of episodes of Legends where Eobard Thawne was a villain to defeat/outsmart. Since a main The Flash villain was in so many episodes of Legends, now would be a perfect time to get the Legends back on The Flash for an episode or two. I know I would watch, and I bet a lot of other folks who have drifted away from the show might watch The Flash for a bit if the Legends put in some guest appearances.

The CW released their Fall schedule today. The 9th season will air in 2023. Not on the Fall schedule.

I do NOT like that they had Berry do that. Too much of him making choices for other people. Regardless of who is right or wrong, it's going quite far.
