Not me. I like Halsey. Sure she's a bit weird, but she's no Grimes. :)

My intro comment was to placate Throwing Copper. ;)

I love Halsey. One of my favorite current musicians.

Is this the Halloween show already?

I ask because it looks in the promo like the musical guest is a vampire.

Friendly reminder: Halsey's pronouns are she/her and they/them. So, "I've never heard of her" or "I've never heard of them" is acceptable

Sounds to me like they just want an excuse to drive alone in the carpool .

Her new butt implants... or a new STD.

Everyone can knock KK all they want, but this is on SNL/Lorne. They didn't have to ask her.

I think I heard earlier this week that the last episode was the lowest rated SNL episode ever? Or at least one of the lowest ever. Or maybe the lowest season opener ever. Either way - it wasn't good. I wonder if KK will improve the ratings for this episode.

And with Halsey's first appearance, tonight's SNL has broken the record for the most skin-tight body suits worn on a TV episode . . . and the show is just half over!

Halsey's got a nice body and decent face. Music - not so much.
But hey, as I type this - Lindsey Buckingham accompanying her on the second song. Looked it up and apparently he plays this on her album.

I actually liked Kim’s monologue.

I'm pretty sure Chris Rock is fairly well known. I also knew Cena, Chace Crawford, and Blake Griffin, I didn't know the guy from Grey's. I'm guessing the other guy was a famous model.

All told it was just another lame Kyle Mooney sketch.

Re: SNL 10/09/21 (S47E02) — H: Kim Kardashian West - MG: Halsey

Kim was no worse than most of the actual actors they get to host. And she was better than some of them as well - like Deniro.
She lacked any emotion in a couple of the sketches though. She didn't go in on the bare minimum though - she was in the majority of them.

The monologue was well written. Not sure if she wrote or at least had a hand in it. It was nice to see Kim roasting herself and her family. Good sports about that.

The cold open - what the hell was wrong with the camera switching? Like 4 times it took too long to switch over to the person.

In an intro to one of the sketches they censored an f-bomb and did a poor job. Still heard it.

So who were those guys in the energy drink sketch?

Halsey’s album, produced by Nine Inch Nails, is really good. I don’t care what any of you lames say.

Lindsay Buckingham and Halsey were great. Halsey looked absolutely breathtaking. I don’t know anything about fashion but that dress and hat made her look like a turn of the century painting. I was stunned.

I thought Kim did alright. I liked her taking the piss out of her family. Especially the peoples Kourt. I don’t understand why anyone would ever want to live in the kind of bubble they do, but most of them from what I’ve seen, seem like nice enough people. Kim especially has spearheaded some pretty important social causes.

Fuck Kanye West though.

Kim's fans must have taken all the tickets since they laughed at everything she did.

Re: SNL 10/09/21 (S47E02) — H: Kim Kardashian West - MG: Halsey

I agree, her line deliveries were very emotionless and wooden but then again, she's not really an actress. I don't think being filmed while you are living your life with your family makes anyone an actress even if does get them a SAG card.

Strange to see Aidy Bryant stepping up to be the Kate McKinnon of this episode appearing in most of the sketches. I've never been a fan but she has gotten a lot better since she first started. Among a show of pretty mediocre sketches I would say her and Kim's body switch sketch was the highlight for me.

Agree that Halsey sounded (and looked) flawless. I had to wonder if her last outfit was a dig at Kardashian the way the silhouette flared out like two huge butt cheeks.

Why did so many other celebs want to get in on this show? Notoriety? For a funny story to tell their friends? I was seriously surprised to see Amy Schumer there....

I couldn't believe that with 20+ people in the cast, they had a filmed sketch starring (I'm guessing) three of the writers. Let the writers write the piece and then put three cast members in it for fucks sake.

She had to agree to make fun of herself, but I don't think she could write a joke if her life depended on it.

She was a good sport and it was funny, but she's no actress. Her delivery in everything was flat, which is ironic. (See I just wrote a joke!)

I guess the one guy I did n't know was the one from Grey's Anatomy. Chris Rock is Chris Rock, no explanation necessary. And Blake Griffin has been an NBA superstar for over a decade.

Overall, I thought the show was good, better than last week. Kim K can't act, but she was a good sport and willing to poke fun at herself and family. The sketches were uniformly good. Seems like the writers felt free to go where they wanted within bounds, like the People's Kourt sketch.

It's funny cuz it's true Dept: White Aladdin is afraid Kim's Jasmine will break him.
