Were people really surprised by the reveal? I dont claim to always predict twists but I thought this one was pretty obvious. Suspect we will all be disappointed with the "Season" finale because it seems that it is really just half a season. Interesting to see very mature women in a purely sexual situation. Not sure how many times I have ever seen that.

I have a complaint about Starlight secretly livestreaming Homelander. Doesn't she remember his little bit about if he isn't loved then he'll be feared? Doing this is risking making the public start hating Homelander and then him going on a rampage killing tons of people. I know she needed to get out of there, but is the risk of setting him off as a killing machine worth it?

This show does not waste a single frame. Every second is compelling storytelling. Superb.
Many threads and directions possible next season. I haven't read the comics but it's clear things are going in different directions than the synopses I've read and it still works.
That finale in the public square made me sick to my stomach. The echoes of social commentary felt so harrowing that I had to kind of sit there a while when it was all done.

The comics are very, very, very different, and the show is superior in so many ways. The change in the prospective VP alone is going to add some layers to the endgame (plus Noir being taken out). I'm trying to re-read the series and it's really tough, I'm not sure I can do it. Like even just the way they portray Starlight in the first season compared to the comic is so much better.
I like the theme of parenting but man Butcher is an idiot for what he did earlier in the season, and I still can't find a rationale reason for it besides it was needed to move the story along. He obviously did it to try to distance himself from Ryan in some misguided way to keep him safe, but when you're an even worse parent than Homelander I'm not sure what to say.
One thing I'll say about the finale is that the plot is kind of out there. I mean the plan the good guys has is crazy, Butcher's plan is crazy, and then a lot of what Maeve does makes no sense, unless they all just had a death wish.
In any case, a good setup for next season, and (unfortunately) a great reflection of modern day hero/politician worship society.

I'm wondering if that blast would even affect Homelander. He wasn't injected with V (like all the others), he was created directly from a Supes DNA.

Plus it doesn't affect Soldier Boy himself (though maybe the blast just radiates out from him). But I'm betting we'll find out eventually.

I guess I completely missed it but why is Ashley losing her hair? Just job stress or is something else causing it? Is she having sex with a supe that's radioactive?

She's been pulling it out in clumps because of stress. Although it wouldn't surprise me if that Tucker Carlson-like guy is radioactive.

That was fun. The tower fight was brutal. At least Maeve gets what she always wanted by getting out.
Good use of the song Maniac.

Now that I think, I kinda remember she would have a clump every now and then. I guess it never registered since nothing else really happens with her.

I just watched some of Karen Fukuhara's youtube show and I guess I had completely forgotten that she's like a native English speaker and not a Japanese actress. I guess I don't remember her that much as Katana (though certainly my kids know her from She-ra and Kipo).

His actual father, who truly does love him, comes in and the first thing he says is that he understands, he would never blame Ryan for his mother's death and he wouldn't abandon him.
I don't blame Ryan at all. F Butcher though.
