Alrhough, now that I think about it, they weren’t burned in subtitles, they were closed captions. But my closed captions were off.

You might want to see if there is more than one set of English subtitles.

With streaming, there is a move away from including burned-in subtitles for foreign-language dialog in English language material.

So one set of subtitles (usually the default for Americans) will only have the foreign-language dialog subtitles, another set will have everything subtitles. They might have done something weird here with the sign language; I think I saw three sets of English subs for this, so you might want to cycle through them and see what's what.

Homelander doesn't really seem 10 steps ahead, he is just so unpredictable, evil and unstoppable. The switch he did with the senator was one of the first times he seemed particularly clever.

This is one of those rare shows that gets better and better with each season, each episode. That musical number was inspired. Anyone know if that was Karen Fukuhara really singing? Either way great, but that was just executed so well.

I was like shit when this episode ended. I wanted more. The episodes, which are a good hour or so, flies by in an instant. That to me is a great show. And to have you hanging on until the next Friday, while excruciating sometimes, is the markings of an addictive, great show.

I just got caught up with the last 2 weeks.

That dildo fight scene with Kimiko was spectacular. Glad she survived getting pulverized by Soldier Boy.

Soldier Boy is vicious with his internal bomb or whatever you call it. And man, poor Crimson Countess. Cooked like a backyard BBQ. I also could have done without the Rogen cameo with him masturbating. at him looking unsatisfied after he came.

Loved the musical number. Karen Kukuhara is adorable and she does have good chemistry with Frenchie.

I never would have put Paul Reiser in that role in a million years, but it was a brilliant casting job.

Guy's a great actor... he went from playing the scheming yuppie asshole in Aliens to the goofy sitcom husband in Mad About You to the creepy Stan Lee who got cornholed by Marlon Brando.

I haven't read the comics, so this is purely a guess... What if Homelander isn't killed this season, but rather just loses his powers? Soldier Boy would then be the by far strongest supe, and they would all have to work together to somehow kill him. I'm guessing the loss of powers won't be permanent.
