So 2/3 of the way through this series and we still barely know anything. With the first 4 episodes, I feel like we’ve just gotten to the point of establishing the characters.

It looks like a few things are set up for the next episode but I have a feeling that this series is just going to…end.

Are they setting this series ip for future seasons with a completely new set of guests/cast? Normally I’d think that would be a cool idea except we know (and care) very little about the employees of the resort.

Still, as other have mentioned, there’s something hypnotic about this show that compels me to continue watching.

But whenever I see a show that wants to pull back the veil on how miserable and fucked up wealthy people are, I just think how it's still WAY better than being a miserable and fucked up poor person.

Plop is a belligerent asshole, but he is still fucking a total babe and living in luxury. Oh, wouldn't it suck to be him!

Over 100 acting credits and the best thing she ever did was that one episode of Seinfeld where she didn't move her arms when she walked.

I thought she was fantastic in her one scene in Promising Young Woman.

I really dig this show and am very into it even though I don't like any of the characters or really understand what it's about. Of course I don't like any of the characters in Succession (except Cousin Greg) and I am totally obsessed with that show, so it's clearly not a deal breaker for me.

As a Kamaina, I will always be up for shows that take place in Hawaii, and it's beautifully shot with wonderful music and scoring. As common as vacations are, we've never had a series that deals so explicitly with how we behave and interact when we take one. I think that's real interesting.

Who, out of curiosity? I guess Daddario could be considered a sympathetic character to some extent, but come on, she had to know how awful her new husband was.
And the spa manager, of course, is sympathetic. You know this story isn't going to end well for her from the moment she typed up a business plan.

The Resort Manager is Basil Fawlty's other self in the Resort/Hotel Multiverse who's an addict and happens to like Young Men. Gotta love him.

Definite Basil Fawty vibes. But I lost any sympathy with all the drug use. I personally hate addiction stories in TV and Movies and check right out when they become the focus.

Maybe it’s just because I’m a fan of Steve Zahn in general but so far his character isn’t as bad as the others. He got drunk at one point and kind of acted a fool but even then, he was still mostly likable.

The kid who got rimmed seems ok so far.

I don't have to think characters are perfect people to like them. I do like her character. She seems like generally a good person.
I also like the spa manager, the resort manager, Stifler's Mom, Steve Zahn. I could even cut some slack for Connie Britton, though she seems like a real cold fish. And the son's fine, too.
Yeah, I'm thinking maybe Stifler's Mom is the one that's killed, which will kill any chance of a business arrangement there. I was worried originally that she wouldn't even remember offering to fund her spa, but she brought it up again, so I think she's all in. Circumstances will have to ruin that for the spa lady.

No one cares for Jennifer Coolidge's character? She is messed up and a lot to deal with, but seems like a decent human just going through a tough time.

She’s more annoying than unlikable. I’d place her higher on the list of likability than most of the rest of the characters.

The hotel manager seems likable enough as well although he’s just dug himself in deeper with his shit customer service skills. He could have easily rectified the honeymoon suite situation right at the beginning

I'm through episode 3 and find most of the characters at least somewhat likeable minus the stalker daughter and Daddario's husband.

Coolidge's eulogy reminded me of her character in Best in Show.

I’m glad the producers read my post on page one of this thread regarding a second season.

I could see Daddario coming back for a second time, maybe to write an article on the White Lotus or something. That’s, you know, assuming she’s not the one who ends up dead at the end of this season…

I was initially assuming it was going to be Zahn or his son dying while scuba diving or one of the girls, but that seems too dark, so my guess is it'll be Greg.

But they all have solid reasons to be dead at the end of this.
