The Winchesters (CW) -- Supernatural prequel series -- Premieres 10/11/22

It's centered on Mary and John Winchester. Ackles will also be the narrator according to the story.

Ackles wife is also producing with him.

"Before Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), The Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world."

Haven't we already had enough of this from the time traveling and whatnot? John and Mary ran away from the Man of Letters & Hunters to raise their family. It wasn't that interesting then and it doesn't seem like it'd be interesting here either. As much as I loved Supernatural, I think I'm gonna pass on this spin-off like most of the other failed spin-offs.

This is like a billion dollar franchise…it’ll find a way to come back in some form and this way they can’t really shoehorn Sam/Dean into it.

How long would this last?
Knowing how it all ends does change some things plus there are many things they can't have or address as we know they didn't have it or know about it back then.
I'll likely watch it and it could be good. I saw all of Supernatural. However, it's one of those "no one is really asking for this"

Haven't seen that show. I'm sure they can do it just fine. There are some limitations though.

Wow... I thought Jensen and Jared were closer than that.

Further... (courtesy of TV Line)

Padalecki — who currently headlines The CW’s
Walker — fired off a third tweet, which has since been deleted, at Robbie Thompson, the Supernatural co-executive producer who will pen the prospective series. “Et tu brute? Wow. What a truly awful thing you’ve done,” it read. “#Bravo you coward.”

This all may be fake drama that Padalecki is drumming up as an extended gag... we'll see....

And solved...

Just hours after calling out his former on-screen sibling Jensen Ackles for allegedly not telling him about an in-the-works Supernatural prequel project, Jared Padalecki let fans know on Friday that “things are good” between the onetime co-stars.

“@JensenAckles and I had a great talk, as we do often, and things are good,” Padalecki
. “The show is early in the process with miles to go. We’ve travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps. Bumps don’t stop us. Once brothers, always brothers.”

Shortly after Padalecki’s tweet was posted,
, “Love you @jarpad. Miss these talks. I forgot how much face time we always used to get. And I miss that too. I know you’re busy… as am I, but you’re still my brother. I miss you, pal.”

It's not like Jared needs the work. Walker is now the CW's #1 show and will likely get an extended run.

Jared has well known issues with anxiety and depression. If it's true that Jensen and his wife developed this show without telling him, that probably legitimately hurt Jared's feelings. Nothing wrong with that. He probably shouldn't have sent that first tweet calling Jensen out on it, but he might have just not been thinking straight when he did it. I think Jensen knows him well enough not to take it personally.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. He’s gone off before on Twitter with depression-like posts, and he’s talked about it before. I bet Jensen felt stupid not even talking to Jared about it after.

Meg Donnelly could get me to watch. Actually, I'm hopelessly behind on Supernatural. I stopped watching after finishing season 5. I bought the blu-rays for all the season after that though with the strange idea that I'd find the time to catch up on them.

Wow. That's great news for Meg Donnelly. After watching her on American Housewife, I always thought her and the original Anna-Kat, Julia Butters, were destined to be much bigger stars. As a fan of Supernatural, I will be watching this series.

I still find it very weird that Dean went behind Sam's back in the making of this show.

I assume Jensen Ackles will only appear in the Pilot and the rest of the series will just be his voice over.

For those who don’t know. Ackles is now a series regular on Big Sky on ABC.

Yeah... I think that was a dick move.

Unless I'm missing something, I thought John wasn't aware of Mary's hunting activities until after Yellow Eyes killed her... or did they retcon that stuff during the whole Men of Letters season (which I didn't watch).

Also wondering if they're going to recreate the Impala scene with John/Dean (when he time traveled).
