I'll give the show's production design and atmosphere major kudos, far more stylish than other AMC programs.

Wow, just watched the first two episodes since the entire first season has ended and it's fantastic. They totally went from making Louis and Lestat's relationship implicit to explicit. Bogosian was also fantastic and I've yet to get to episode 3. I'm binging it now, though.

So far, it's doing enough of its own thing to distinguish itself from the source material and film, but keeping just a bit to still have identify with the property.

One of the funniest scenes I was not expecting was in the first episode and it was about going in the backdoor without asking first. No, it's not what you think, but the dialogue involving it was hysterical and the actress was hilarious.

Should this be released on 4K disc I will buy it. The HD stream is stellar.

Just watched the season finale and that character is not who I thought he was. Well done.

AMC struck a deal with Warner to allow this series to have a limited run on MAX from 9/1-10/31.
Making up for lack of new content on HBO. I might have to check this one out.

It's pretty watchable if you ignore the changes they've made from the book.

Interestingly, a lot of current AMC shows are also up on Hoopla to borrow. A surprising amount of shows in fact.

Season two started last week on AMC. The vamps are now over in Europe.

Renewed my AMC+ subscription and binged season two today. It was awesome and they did tweak events around, which was surprising but still cool. Will definitely be getting the Blu-ray set when it' released. Ben Daniels was awesome, as well.

I hope it gets a season 3, because they hinted at certain things that happen/happened in The Vampire Lestat novel.

Season two was a big improvement. Actually sort of enjoyed most of this. The New Orleans drama from last season wasn't terribly interesting, but the Theatre des Vampires stuff was pretty good even if it was greatly expanded from the novel.

Hopefully next season, when they presumably adapt The Vampire Lestat, it will stick closely to the novel. The dates on Nicolas' coffin would seem to indicate this.

It's already been renewed for season 3:

I loved the novel "Interview with a Vampire". I read it in one sitting. I have a short attention span for novels, so if it is not good, forget me reading it. I think it was one of the best works of fiction I have ever read, along with "The Other" by Thomas Tryon. (They messed up that movie too. Unwatchable). I liked aspects of the movie Interview with a Vampire, mostly side characters, like Antonio Banderas (Armand) and Stephen Rhea (Santiago). Anne Rice wrote that book as a short story, then turned it into a novel, while she was grieving the death of her daughter, who died at age five from leukemia. I imagine it was kind of a way of coping. I have not seen any movies or series after Queen of the Damned, which was not great.

The show actually changed names. It’s now called “The Vampire Lestat”

Sounds like it's just following the book order...

Since they're changing the title of the show, I wonder why they just didn't call it Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, then subtitle the seasons with the novel titles as necessary.

Normally I would request the Mod to change the thread title with a new show name.

But, this thread barely has any activity in the 3 years it's been up. I assume many of you just simply haven't gotten around to this or simply don't have anything interesting to say. That's just the case with many shows on TV these days.

So, I'm just going to leave it alone.

Opening looks great. Too bad Interview with the Vampire changed up so much from the books, I would have loved to have had a really kick-ass straight-up adaption of at least the first three books in the Vampire Chronicles.

Really enjoyed Interview more than I expected to. Wish I could say the same for Mayfair Witches and Talamasca. But looking forward to this!
