Don't see how this could be funny on a weekly basis.

It's not funny on a movie basis.

I think people are forgetting that weed is legal in a lot of states these days and therefore Ted will be funny in those states. I might watch an episode but I don't know that this will hold up on a weekly basis. the two movies were a one-time watch for me.

I like the Ted movies. But this kind of thing as a show hasn't had a very successful track record, curious how it'll turn out.

I normally like the guy but just keep Giovanni Ribisi away from the series. Bring Seth Green back and resurrect Greg the Bunny as a co-star.

I wonder if they'll replace Mark Wahlberg with Sam Jones.

I like the movies for what they are but I don’t need a series. I wouldn’t mind another movie though.

Safe to assume Mark Wahlberg won't be involved. What happened to Thunder Buddies for Life?

Probably no more Tom Brady references either.

I wonder if it will be animated. I could see that more versus something that’s live action.

I'm actually surprised it took them this long to consider it.

Not mentioned in this thread, MacFarlane is developing this as a prequel

re: Ted - prequel series from Seth MacFarlane ordered at Peacock

I really, really hated Ted. On the recommendation of a friend (IRL, not online) I blind-bought Ted on blu-ray, the Target exclusive a bonus disc on extra content and a cheap-plastic talking bottle opener that quoted line from the movie.

I found the movie to be tedious and unfunny, basically a boring chick flick romcom with a cussing plush bear thrown into it.

In the series, it’s 1993 and Ted the bear’s moment of fame has passed, leaving him living with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, who lives in a working-class Boston home with his parents and cousin. Ted may not be the best influence on John, but when it comes right down to it, Ted’s willing to go out on a limb to help his friend and his family.

Re: Ted - prequel series from Seth MacFarlane ordered at Peacock

I liked the two movies. The show looks okay but I kind of feel like they could have just made a prequel movie as I can see it getting old fast as a series. Unless it remains one off event series and doesn’t get picked up for future seasons.

I like the movies, I'll check this out if I ever end up getting Peacock.

It looks funny. But I do agree the concept might quickly wear thin as an ongoing series.

It's supposed to be a limited series so we'll see.
