I've been watching behind the scenes and blooper reels on YouTube to get my B99 fix this past week.

Pretty much, yeah. Likely deals NBC signed to air episodes by X date.

Well, NBC never fully committed to the show in the first place, never having ordered a full season. They treat it more like a "be glad we saved you from Fox's cancellation at all"

At this point, mostly just glad to get anything new ... a full season would be better for sure .. but I'll take what I can get

The massive syndication deal forced NBC to save it.

Then they need to put it on with two episodes per week. Or hell, all at once one Hulu or Peacock.

They are. 10 episodes over 5 Thursdays ending Sept. 16.

Well, NBC canned the L&O spinoff, so they could have burned it off Thursday at 8 for 5 weeks but it looks like The Blacklist will slot in instead.

Just shows how little NBC cares about the show itself - its just making them money in Syndication (IIRC, sold for $500k an episode) and Hulu

Yeah, that's what they doing. Gotta get it out of the way before the fall season starts.

Whatever they put out will be gold. The entire series is gold.

I missed that, I'm personally good with this.

This better not turn into another "woke" mess. Oh but it will...

Nothing in the trailer suggests that.

Though I suppose "woke" has come to replace "hipster" in the last few years. "Everything I don't like is woke", woo buzzwords.

B99 has always been somewhat approaching the idea of "woke". A gay black Captain, another black man as the sergeant, Rosa is bi, Jake admits when he says problematic things and works to get better. They've referenced problems with policing and racism in past eps (like when Terry got picked up for being out after dark looking for his kid's toy?).

It's funny, I've been feeling like I didn't want to watch this show anymore because it's just more copaganda, but the fact that they're aware of the problems with modern policing gives me some hope. And ya'll think it's too woke?

I've never gotten a "woke" vibe from B99. It's a funny show filled with funny characters and has been consistent from the beginning. It's not like they suddenly made Captain Holt gay. He's been gay for 8 seasons. I guess the only one that "changed" from the beginning is Rosa but that was still years ago and not new at this point.

Sepinwall's review certainly makes it sound like they probably should have just let it go. For background, he was always a very big fan of the show.

It doesn't sound as bad as the last season of Scrubs, maybe I'll watch it sometime later.
