I wasn't expecting a guitar-oriented rock song from Olivia Rodrigo, but I liked it. She's awfully cute, too.

I switched over to my cable providers IPTV (Rogers) offering last week.
While it's nice to be able to just pull up a recently aired show without having to record it first, I'm annoyed already by what they did with SNL. Both songs by the musical guest wasn't included and they didn't show the ending. I'm not even sure all the sketches were shown either.

WTF is that? It sure as hell didn't skip any commercials though. Is this normal for SNL episodes?

It was nice to see a nearly normal episode with a large turnout of the cast etc but this was not a great episode. I liked the muppet skit but most of the other ones really seemed to drag on. I did actually laugh at Bowen Yang in the opening when he did the bit with the "Stewardess" which in all likelihood is first for me as he normally only makes me cringe.

They have to negotiate music rights separately so quite a few cut them entirely. Hulu did that initially as well.

Yeah ifI stream it from my cable service after the broadcast it's without the musical numbers and sometimes without a sketch or two. Once a couple of years ago they cut the cold opening :whofart:​​​​​​. Ever since then I make sure it's going to be recorded on the DVR

Meh episode overall. Muppets was okay. WU was very good, particularly the Baffert part, though I assume most here don't know shit about horse racing (and probably hate it).

The Muppet sketch started off fantastic, then slowed halfway, then fell apart. The usual story arc of every SNL skit.

The SNL reruns at 10pm PDT never show the full show and just one musicial clip and that also goes for the old shows on Directv on demand.

Yeah, I was surprised. My DVR always catches those and I watched the Brie Larson show and it was really really shortened.

The funniest one for me was the Michael Jordan one for the sole reason that every big sports arena/concert venue has old Mark Twain-looking men working security. :lol:

I swear, those guys are there at every time I go to a place like that... tall, skinny, thick white hair, mustache. rotfl

I thought this episode was just awful, the Michael Jordan skit being the only good thing in the episode. Too bad, because I really like Keegan-Michael Key, but he was working with crap material.

And they mostly air shows from 2-3 seasons ago during the 10:00 PM time slot. Why!? I would rather see some of the older classics. So lazy.

Agree. And after Keegan-Michael Key promised it would be the best "SNL" in 46 years. I know most loved that Muppet skit. But I thought even that sucked. Save for Villaseñor's spot-on Lily Tomlin impersonation. That woman is amazing.

Maybe when SNL rerurns aired on Comedy Central they showed the older episodes though NBC will show some of the 70's shows occasionally.
