I won't be able to watch this until I get home from work tomorrow. I am really looking forward to it. And I'm glad season 5 is in the can and hopefully it won't be a full calendar year before we see it.

I don't think I will binge all 10 like crazy. I will try to pace myself.

Silver is a psychopath and I liked how he was using hanging out with snooty rich people to cover his crazy self.

I have to get something off of my chest first. I hate that Netflix bought it from YouTube. When the news first came out about this series there were a lot of Is this really neededs. People doubted. But YouTube trudged on. Got it all together. Then when it's a hit Netflix just gives a few bucks and now Netflix will have all the glory. I hate it. When you ask a few years from now what properties has YouTube TV put out it's doubtful many people will say Cobra Kai, since it's a "Netflix property."

It was YouTube Red, not YouTube TV - which is a cable replacement service.

Netflix, Amazon, YouTube Red and Hulu all bid on Cobra Kai at the same time, YT Red just won the bid. (YT Red is now YouTube Premium, but they stopped doing traditional scripted shows)

(It's also a Sony show.)

Netflix saved the show. YouTube made a decision not to continue with original programming. It was certainly not a mainstream "hit" while on YouTube Red, and without Netflix buying it out, there would have been NO season 4 (unless another entity would have bought it). You should be thankful that we are getting what we have... I DEFINITELY am.

I love this show! Another great season. I smiled so much at the many nods to the original movies. I loved drunken Johnny saying, "Come inside, come inside"... a la drunken Miyagi from the original.

I'm watching the first episode of the first season for the first time right now! It took the show going to Netflix and the hype of season four premiering for me to get there, but I like it. I think I'll have some work to do before I catch up with this thread. I'm going back to the season one thread and will chime in to each old thread as I watch.

Technically yes it was a Red original, but Red shows were available to YouTube TV subscribers. I saw this show through YTTV at the time.
