Oh wow, this one really hurts. I hope they just end Archer, it really won't be the same without her in it.

I know her best from Arrested Development but I have seen her pop up a lot over the years.

It’s sad to see her go but I guess, we could all be so lucky to pass away in our sleep.

Splurged on a $10 dessert with lunch in her honor.

Her Malory Archer was one of the best worst characters you love to hate.

Fuck.
As far as movies go, she was great in Play Misty For Me.

...not screaming in terror, like the passengers in her car?

(I didn't know Ms. Walters personally, but if she's anything like the sarcastic characters she played on TV I think she'd like that joke)

Damn, that really sucks. Lucille Bluth and Malory Archer are both fantastic characters. The last season of Archer was better than the last few with the crew back to being spies, but I can't imagine continuing it without her (and I assume they wouldn't want to recast).

RIP.

I'd heard that when they were casting the role, they wanted someone "like Jessica Walter on Arrested Development", and when she'd heard that she just immediately said "I'll do it"

Didn’t realize she was in Dinosaurs. Mostly know her from Arrested Development, but I have seen some episodes of Archer too. RIP.

Fans of Jessica Walter, who died March 24 at age 80, will get a chance for a proper goodbye and a celebration of the beloved actress when FXX’s popular animated series returns for its 12th season later this year.

Season 12 of Archer is currently in production, and I hear it recently wrapped the voice recordings of the cast which are done first, before the episodes get animated. It is unclear how many episodes of the show Walter will be in next season but I hear that she worked on Archer until the end. “She loved that show so much and was grateful for it every day,” a friend of Walter’s said.

I loved her. So great as Lucille but also a welcome face whenever she'd show up. Another sad loss.

I'm a huge Archer fan. Sorry to see her gone, but happy that a) she was able to record one more season and b) that season should be the end of the series. They really took it as far as they could. Can't imagine the show without Mallory, and can't imagine recasting her.

And watching Archer lead me to finally watch Arrested Development, which was one of the best ensemble casts I've ever seen.

Jeez, she was 80? That makes ME feel old. I still think of her as a 50-something year old woman.

I'm so used to what she looked like from the 70's to the 90's that I didn't even think about it. I've seen her in several TV shows over the years - but nothing particularly recent that I can remember.

She even had a part on Babylon 5 around 1995 playing a Senator.

I always liked her.

And I've reached the age where 80 still doesn't seem all THAT old...

Haven't watched any of her recent work but I recall her guest appearing on many shows of the 1970's.
Rest In Peace.
