I liked the first couple of episodes but this third one, minus the plot with Big's ex wife Natasha, was just horrendous. Now Charlotte's little daughter is about to come out as trans whatever and Miranda is also about to come out as trans / lesbian / who knows all in the same episode. Most every show now has characters that are trans. The Roseannae reboot has one main character, Darlene's son, and one recurring, Darlene's boss. The Saved by the Bell reboot also has a trans character.
I know trans people exist in real life but make up something like less than 1% of the population. It's especially weird when it involves kids. One of the more recent Conners episodes had Darlene's gay son (who was trans in the beginning of the series, not so much anymore) on the couch with another gay boy talking about "going upstairs to make out". I'll probably get blasted for this for not being "woke", but it's too much.

A February 2021 Gallup poll reported that 5.6% of US adults identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. 86.7% said that they were heterosexual or straight, and 7.6% refused to answer.
That ~5.6% breaks down to 3.1% as bisexual, 1.4% as gay, 0.7% as lesbian, and 0.6% as transgender.

It makes me wonder why all trans characters in TV shows are actually played by real life trans people. Why couldn't a straight man or woman play a trans charcter?

It's a tension between the idea that a creative endeavor only has a responsibility to be the best it can be, artistically, or whether there is also a social/political responsibility with regard to representation. The thing is, in 2021, the people who believe the latter are a lot more vocal about it.

For anyone who has watched Dexter this season, it takes place in what looks like a mostly white town.
Yet every single race is represented in all the main characters and side characters. A pretty obvious decision there.
I lasted about 10 minutes with this show. The fact it didnt have Kim Cattrall was a deal-breaker.
Her character brought some much needed not giving a fuck to the original series.

Well, that was the most uncomfortable (and unsexy) sex scene I've ever sat through.

The public sphere has no obligation to adhere to that idea.

I've been reading a lot over the past 2-3 weeks where fans absolutely loathe the character Che. If the show does return for another season, I wonder if Michael Patrick King and SJP will listen to their critics and make some changes. I personally would like to see her go.

Wow, no comments since early January? Did people give up on this? I'm finally glad this is over, but that last kiss seemed to come out of nowhere. And do all widows dress up like a clown to scatter their dead husbands ashes?

I didn't make it through the entirety of the first episode, my wife did finish that show and we decided that was enough for this series.

I never understood all of the criticism for this reboot/continuation/whatever they're calling it. It's no worse than the original series quite frankly. I remember watching it right before "The Soprano's" on Sunday nights and rolled my eyes a lot. Sure, it was a fun show. But nothing great.

Did anyone like this at all? I'm not trying to be like a dick, but this was pretty damn terrible.

No it was awful. Bump for a great interview with Kim and of course this was discussed:

You're right, I think Kim nailed it. She knew the show had ended at the right time and the first movie was just meant to tie up loose ends.
The second was a just a shameless money grab and anything beyond that would be an insult to the audience and difficult for her to stay true to the character.
It's too bad Sarah Jessica Parker couldn't read the room as well as Kim could or maybe she just really needs the money.
They tried to make the new show still be about the sex lives of women in their 50s but instead of celebrating it all the storylines just came off as depressing and sad. There WAS a way to create new interesting storylines but the choices they made were not good ones. Unlike the original series, it just wasn't fun to watch.... so why bother?

That actually looked pretty good until Che showed up. Seriously, she is probably the most hated character on any show the last few years and they actually brought her back.

Im watching it with the wife. Cant find a word other than sloppy. And I have watched all seasons of SexCity, movies, and the first season of just like that. We are also watching Glamorous on Netflix and so far I like Glamorous better.
