Your first spoiler was a line used a couple times during Season 1 with Cinda's show (there's a time skip to a few months in the future in one episode IIRC), was also more or less the closing line to the season.

Pretty enjoyable conclusion.

It seems this was intended to be a two season series with that ending tacked on but I look forward to more. With that last cameo it seems like everyone has officially been on this show

I liked the second season but the mystery wrap up didn’t really land for me. I think I like everything about this show - characters, jokes, setting - EXCEPT how they resolve the mysteries themselves as they’ve been a bit too convoluted and too many red herrings.

(I don’t buy the killer’s motive at all this season nor did I think the actor really pulled it off)

I think I feel the same way. I really like the show. The cast is so fun, the jokes are great....but I don't care about the mystery.

I wandered into this thread on Tuesday forgetting that the finale had aired. Thanks for no big spoilers, even though I would’ve blamed no one because it would’ve been all my fault.

Anyway, I thought the finale was fine, except with maybe one too many switchbacks. I have to admit that they really deked me when

I thought the season started out strong and withered in the middle. This finale was amazing - I was laughing the whole way through! Such great performances from Martin, Short and Gomez (I particularly love Selena's reactions to Steve and Martin's "old man" references - they go by so quickly you need to pay attention).

The actual solution of the murder wasn't nearly as important as the performances. The ensemble cast was great. The overacting of the gay guy, the amazing performance from the former-Broadway-actor-now-doorman, etc. All of it sold this show.

I thought season 2 got a little too convoluted, but still very enjoyable. If this really is Steve Martin's last project, I hope we get a bunch of seasons!

I imagine it's a tricky balance between keeping people interested and making it too easy.

I would think if something cool and interesting came his way he would unretire.

Definitely sounds like a penthouse suite cameo ala Sting and Schumer. Also another 'S' name in Streep. Seems like something an Arconiac would come up with.

Maybe, but she did do a full season of Big Little Lies, Season 2. This is almost certainly going to be better than that.

I liked how she worked with Martin in It's Complicated. Would love to see more of the two of them together.
