I find myself singing that patter song throughout the day, it's catchy and the premise is so ridiculous it's great.

I blurted that out to my wife when they were watching the footage again. So, is this just a misdirection again? Could she be covering up for her son rather than just trying to spare him a disastrous show?

She poisoned him. But she didn't kill him. Tobert was thrilled he had the final work of Ben Glen Roy, then Ben came back and he was devastated. So he pushed him down the elevator shaft so that he once again had his final document

I enjoyed the third season, but I think more as an acting showcase for Short, Martin, and the guest stars. Steve Martin in this season was giving me flashes of Martin from 40 years ago, like from The Jerk and All of Me, with his physical comedy. The murder mystery wasn't very interesting, and the "we're making a podcast" thing barely registered.

Funny thing about the finale is that none of them behave like they are going to have to perform the show the next night and again and again.

Well, to be fair the producers were both arrested and will likely be in jail so it would be interesting to see if the show would actually go on. So, who all has it in for Charles?

Re: Only Murders in the Building (Hulu) - S: Short, Martin, Gomez - premieres 8/31/21

Iím surprised that the biggest star in the show, Meryl Streep, (or rather, her character) was given a reason to leave the city but she wanted to stay in New York, so thereís potential for her to return. Meanwhile, Tobert is planning to leave, like all of Mabelís other previous love interests, which is getting repetitive.

Was there even a point to the new detective character who showed up for 3 minutes total? I thought he would have more to do a few episodes ago when he was shown listening to the podcast. Tina Feyís brief appearance also fell flat.

Itís also interesting that this new murder happens immediately, so it would be weird if any of the cast disappeared between now and next season, because they would need to be interviewed or react to the situation. Even if the next season flashes forward, weíd need to see the initial situation play out when all is revealed.

.
She said she wanted to stay, but Short seemed to be encouraging her to pursue the LA opportunity and that he was willing to come visit her. So I expect that is their out for Streep not to return. I guess it all just comes down to how fun she thinks this is. She doesn't have to work for any other reason.

Of course it didn't have to be intended for Charles. Sazz said she had something important and delicate to discuss with Charles before she left.

I liked this season, especially the musical stuff, but it was by far the least compelling murder mystery, and was kind of a total waste of Paul Rudd who wasn't in it much and didn't have anything funny to do after the season premiere.

Sorry to bump this, but first off, enjoyed the season. Some great stuff from the main cast, Streep, and Broderick in that limited role.

As to the watch - yes, setting it 20 minutes ahead of the actual time would cause you to be late.

Say I have to be somewhere at 2:00 and that time is right now - my watch says 1:40 (20 minutes ahead). By the time my watch says 2:00 and I arrive at what I think is 2:00, it will actually be 2:20 so I would be 20 minutes late. Not a big deal in the course of the season, but it was correct.

No, BBL. You got that backwards. If you set your watch 20 minutes ahead, your watch will read 2:00 pm when it is in fact 1:40 pm. That's why you would arrive early.

EDIT: In fact, look here.

Those who tend to cut things tight have a time-honored tradition of setting their watches ahead by a few minutes. That way, when you glance at your watch and realize that you need to leave, you actually have a few more minutes.

I get you and had the same initial gripe when I heard it - but It's some ambiguity in how you define "ahead". In the show, they were going with "earlier" vs "before". Ben's actual time on his watch was always an "earlier" display time than it actually was, even though in reality, he was late. But in your definition provided, "ahead" means to set your watch so that it reaches a display time "before" that time actually occurs (so your display is actually "later" than the actual time)

IDKWTF you are talking about. Setting your watch ahead has exactly one meaning. You set the time that your watch shows AHEAD of what the actual time is. That is what you do to trick yourself into not being late.

It is exactly the same words that we use when we set our clocks AHEAD one hour in the spring. If you have heard it both ways, you need to stop listening to dummies who probably also say "I could care less" when they mean I could NOT care less."

Season 1 will air on ABC. I know not everyone in this forum has Hulu, so might be an opportunity for some of you who were interested, but don't subscribe.
