I’ll give it a try because of Cranston, but the reviews I’ve seen have not been positive.

The first episode was alright. I've had a bit of a fill on affluent people committing crimes and thinking they can beat the system.
I do look forward to seeing an unhinged Michael Stuhlbarg though.

^ Stuhlbarg is just great. First saw him in A Serious Man, then recently in Men in Black III and is just amazing in everything he does.

Everything seems just a little too obvious plot-wise, but like others have said, in for Cranston, at least for the time being.

Anyone else still watching? It's a bit of a slow grind for me, but things have taken an interest twist in the past few episodes..

You're absolutely right, it sometimes reminds me of Uncut Gems, and how on edge that movie had me.

Not sure why this show gets little love here and a low RT score. Fantastic and gripping thriller with a superb performance by Cranston set in N'awlins.

We look forward to watching it each week.

I'm halfway through and loving it, mostly due to the performances of Cranston and Stuhlbarg.

I am getting a little tired of the kid's righteous indignation with Dad - hey, Junior, you're the one who killed someone then ran.

It's the show I look forward to the most out of my weekly watch list. I'm not wishing the show to end but I'm really excited to see how this wraps up. From a moral standpoint it's hard to find any good guys to cheer for. I don't see why reviews are mixed on this I think it's very entertaining.

Most of the complaints I've read are directed at the character of the son, and how he's written.

Anyone still watching this? The plot is pretty strained, but the performances are still great. It's like if Walter White was a judge.

Yep. Didn’t think the latest episode was all that great and the whole covid nod seemed a little off to me. One juror wearing a mask?

re: Your Honor (Showtime) -- S: Bryan Cranston -- premieres 12/6/20

The plot thickens, and the truth is coming out. Looks like Baxter has figured out (or is about to) that it was Adam, not Michael, who killed his son. He also believes that Adam is responsible for his daughter's atheism. That scene with the priest prompted a discussion with my wife about the story of Abraham and Isaac, and how IMO it shows just how shitty god is, even if he was all "j/k" at the end and didn't make Abraham go through with it. Any god that would ask someone to kill their own child to prove their devotion, and any parent who would agree, are morally reprehensible. My wife just stuck with "but he didn't kill him, God said he didn't have to!" Anyway, that's a discussion for another thread, but I enjoyed that scene.

1 Ep. left. Does Adam step up? Does the teacher spill since Adam has moved on to Fia? Does Costello break the case? Does Michael confess to save his son? Does Charlie spill to get justice for Kofi?
I think I'm going with Adam confesses

Adam is hit by a hit and run driver. Fade to black.

Yes, for another thread, so in spoiler comments:
Spoiler:
Whether there was an historical Abraham aside, one thought on this story is it's less about God pulling a J/K on Abraham and more of God revealing a better way overall. Until then, many belief systems included a lot of blood sacrifice, including human sacrifice. Here, Abraham, the most devoted person around, follows God's commandment and will even follow into that system. But no, God is saying that's not how we're going to do things from now on. People thought they had to kill others to appease their god. That's not how I operate. It's a new piece of the covenant, that human sacrifice is not a requirement of devotion. It's a very grandiose tale, grandstanding really, and it was in its time and place so completely different and radical that it gave a lot of people something to think about. Long story short, it's God making a big deal out of ending something morally reprehensible.

That's how I read it, anyway.

Haven't seen the show (no Showtime), opened the thread anyway. Sounds like mixed reviews here?

I'm still watching too. A decent show but Adam is a total dipshit and deserves to go down for this. I kept expecting the teacher to use her knowledge about what Adam confessed to at some point so it's interesting to see that come together finally. Looking forward to the last episode and have to wonder if there will be a season 2 unrelated to this storyline. If it was not Adam-centric I would be down to watch but the kid is too old and the mobster is a bit too cartoonish for my taste.

If nothing else, this show has truly revealed the underbelly of the Scottish mafia.
