Just compensation for six years of ignoring the show. Good Place deserved something, but it wasnt its strongest season.

Glad for the Succession wins and for Watchmen though it was far from unexpected.
Have never watched Schitt’s Creek, but was pulling for The Good Place, which I loved and for Dead To Me. I don’t think any show has ever won all seven main awards in a single year before. Maybe Roots?

And that was maybe the best In Memorium segment I have ever seen on an Awards show. I liked how they presented the people on a background that let you know subtly what they did. And the song by HER was great.

I felt they did the best with what they had to deal with. I really thought those boxes were just a gag, but apparently they were real. Also, they sent hazmat suits with Emmys even to loser's houses? lol! Again, I thought that was more of a gag and that the winners kind of already knew.

Wow, 9 wins for Schitt's Creek season 6. One of the best comedies I've seen so am glad to see it finally get the recognition it deserves. I don't think it won a single Emmy for any of its prior 5 seasons.

That was the first time a Canadian TV series has won an emmy, never mind winning in multiple categories or sweeping.
It's a great show.

Succession deserved its wins.

I don't really care about awards, but I'm glad Succession won some awards - it increases the odds of it running longer even if its ratings aren't great (not sure how the ratings are).

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the show and was hoping for some wins, but sure wasn't expecting this. I've never seen an awards show where a single show's cast/crew won the first seven awards in a row, wow.

Am I kidding about a thumbs up for the win? No. I don’t care about what she was wearing. I’m glad she won the award. Well deserved.

Has it happened for a Limited Series? Roots maybe?
Edit : No, but Roots competed at a time where there was only ONE winner for Best Actor, Best Actress Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress. One award for Drama and Comedy (let alone for Linited Series or TV Movie like today). It was considered a Drama Series. And it still won 6 of 7.

Roots didn’t get a “single appearance” lead actress win.

It's definitely a make-up award for Schitt's Creek. I LOVE the show, but I would say it's final season was not its strongest. However, I'm happy that more people will watch the show, and now I can wear my David Rose shirt more.

Re: 2020 Emmy Award Discussion Thread (airs 9/20/20)

watched the first hour and enjoyed the Schitt's creek sweep, just got into that show the past year and like many folks it was the perfect quarantine and de-stress show... happy to see the long time greats Levy and O'Hara get due notice as well.. that setup was perfect they had over at the Rose compound...

hopefully all Streaming Channels got the memo make more fun and breezy 22 min shows...

bummed Brady's didn't win.. oh well....
