Wow, I'd rather forget Seasons 9 & 10, but definitely keep Season 11. The 2016 return Season 10 was mediocre at best with only the Darin Morgan episode being half-decent. But 2018's Season 11 was like a return to form that actually felt like The X-Files again and had one of the best episodes of the entire series (again, the Darin Morgan episode) with only a few subpar episodes. Season 10 made me wish they had never brought the show back, but Season 11 made me wish for more.

I actually just watched the show for the first time on Blu Ray (1st season) and DVD (2nd season). I had boycotted it for years because it was what SyFy cancelled Stargate Atlantis to produce instead. While I like Atlantis more, Universe was a good show.
As a show by itself with the "serial numbers filed off", Stargate Universe was actually an ok show to watch through 40 episodes.

My objection has more to do with how Stargate Universe seems like a very different show than SG1/Atlantis, where the "Stargate" elements felt like it was just tacked on in a clumsy manner.

I agree with pretty much all the others mentioned so far too.
I was hoping someone would mention this. S3E1 was about the biggest letdown I can recall in TV. The finale of S2 was some of the best TV I've seen, which is what made S3E1 all the worse.

Interesting topic.

I'd say:

Buffy Season 6
24 Season 6
Homeland Season 7
Desperate Housewives Season 7
Arrow Seasons 4,6,7
Ozark Season 3 (shush, I didn't like it)
Rescue Me Seasons 4, 6
House Of Cards Season 5
Two And A Half Men Seasons 9-12

Re: Television seasons you want to pretend don't exist

When I was a kid, I like The Drew Carey Show. I seem to remember the last season or two getting experimental. I seem to remember it getting too weird for me.

I was emotionally attached to The Office. But barely remember the final season or two.

People poo on some of the Season 5ish seasons of Always Sunny. But it never fell flat for me.

Veronica Mars S3, movie and S4
- I love the first season of this show. S2 was still good but I hated S3. I hated the new characters they brought in so I like to forget that those seasons ever happened. Sometimes it's just better for some shows to stay cancelled...

I was never on board with season 7 of Buffy. Felt like a different show to me after what had happened the prior two seasons. I think a lot of the veteran writers had already left by that point since SMG made it clear she was done with the series.

Season one was just about perfect by itself, so while it pains me to even say it, I think they would have been better off ending it there (though everyone would've been wanting more).

I loved that show back in the day, I haven't seen it in years but remember the end getting a bit weird (which I like). Is this show streaming anywhere? I'd really like to watch it again.

Yeah, for me there were flat episodes here and there but never flat seasons. Still love the show.

It's funny, people are mentioning various seasons of 24 but I now realize I barely remember details of the show, I haven't watched any of it since it originally aired (but I did watch every season). I remember the first season being really good, but that's about it.

The walking dead after Glen fake died. It got worse progressively and should have ended around the time Glen died. For sure when Rick died it should have ended but like a zombie, it won't die.

I still don't understand what happened to SNL. The show was always erratic even in its golden years, but regularly produced the occasional brilliant sketch or character. Then that just stopped somewhere along the way.

Re: Television seasons you want to pretend don't exist

Miami Vice Season 5 the final season.

The music was gone and Jan Hammer left and it was not the same show

The series finale probably the only episode worth revisiting.

Hunter revival series from 2003. Hunter moved to San Diego and Dee Dee McCall happens to join him there as well.

I wanted to love it, but it was so bad. It was cancelled after 3 episodes when only 5 were filmed.

Although Stefanie Kramer still looked hot years after the original show ended.

Apparently Dryer clashed with the writers and NBC put almost no money in it.

First show that jumps to mind is season 9 of Scrubs. I mean, the last episode of season 8 was called "My Finale"

I think I watched 2 or 3 episodes of season 9 before saying fuck this.

Re: Television seasons you want to pretend don't exist

That last season gets a bad rap but it actually turned around once Braff left. The problem was they tried to straddle the new characters while the old ones lingered around with nothing to do. It was some weird and unfunny limbo situation. Once Braff left the new characters had a chance to grow into their own thing. IIRC, the female lead came across as a female JD early on but I want to say they got away from that.

Why is that? You'd think a hit show would have more money coming in and thus more money to pay people.

Yeah I'm not sure I buy that either. There's no way Michael Richards was pulling $1m per episode of the Michael Richards show or Matt LeBlanc on Joey. Seinfeld, Friends and Big Bang Theory seem to show the opposite.
