Love Life (HBO Max) -- anthology series -- From EP Paul Feig, Anna Kendrick -- Premieres 5/27/20
Love Life, the first full-length scripted series to star Oscar(R) nominee Anna Kendrick, is about the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we're with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever. This fresh take on a romantic comedy anthology series is from creator and co-showrunner Sam Boyd (In a Relationship) and is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment. The series will follow a different protagonist's quest for love each season, with each half-hour episode telling the story of one of their relationships. Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, A Simple Favor) stars in the first season along with Zoë Chao (Downhill, Strangers), Peter Vack (Someone Great, The Bold Type), Sasha Compere (Miracle Workers, Uncorked), and Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread, Another Year).

It's probably not going to be bad considering all the talent involved. But that blurb doesn't do much to sell the series.

Just barreled through the first 3 episodes and it's an awesome and very funny show. They looked and sounded great in HD and 5.1..

So they tweeted that they will release the next three episodes next Thursday June 4 and then the final four episodes on June 11. It may not be a complete binge but them releasing the entire first season (11 weeks worth) in just 3 weeks is awesome.

Okay, I was a bit worried that unless I had an X1 dvr (I use TiVo) from Comcast getting and watching HBO Max on my tv would be a problem and that I would only be able to stream on a computer, tablet or phone but so happy that is not the case at all.
I was able to download the app. on my AppleTV 4K and because I already get HBO bundled with my triple play package it looks like it was indeed free vs $14.95, so yay! I signed in to the app (there is also a start free trial button, but I ignored that) and it took me to a page that prompts me to hit the HBO Max Activate site which generated a code to enter then I logged in on my iPad using my Xfinity credentials and I was good to go. I do not remember my password which is auto-saved so fortunately my tablet log-in did the trick and let me in to the app on my AppleTV.
I am already on the 2nd episode and am starting up an episode of Doom Patrol. I am thrilled that this is not costing me extra as I cannot afford to pay to subscribe to more streaming services.

Did Anna Kendrick do something to her upper lip? It is distracting. This is a decent show. A bit less comedy than I was expecting but I will watch them all.

Wrapped up the next 3 episodes this past Wednesday, wow, the shit really hit the fan in terms of the main storyline anchor and it is fucked up! Can't wait for the final 4 episodes this coming Wednesday.

I am glad these are 30 mins long. Perfect length. It is an enjoyable show but this is no where near something you should launch a new streaming service with. I am having a hard time caring about the secondary characters (roommate and her bf)

I like the show but that’s a good point, it isn’t something you launch a new service with. People aren’t going to sign up just for the show (like Mandalorian) or be wowed in to thinking this service is going have some amazing new content. It sounds like the plan for this show is to have several stand alone seasons with a different protagonist each time. Kendrick got me to watch this so I might not even care for another season after Thursday.

The schedule is a little odd. At a time when most networks are slowing their releases because nothing is in production they sped this one up. I’m not even sure what HBO has planned for new content and this being one of few, is over already.

Yes. The British narrator and her little "humorous" observations on life are a direct lift from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and its male-voiced narrator. The observations are (obviously) different, but the presentation is not...the tone is exactly the same. So much so, I'm shocked they picked a British narrator since that makes it so much more obvious it's a direct lift from Adams.

I knocked the final 4 episodes out yesterday. It went from super cool to just average by the time it ended. I still think the best episodes are the middle 3, with Magnus and her childhood. The final 4 episodes fast forward those events and explore different themes and focus on different characters.
