Notable Spring/Summer 2020 Premiere Dates (Subject to Change)

Courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes as of 6/22/20
https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com...re-dates-2020/

Also please note:

The coronavirus pandemic of spring 2020 has had a dramatic impact on the film and TV industry, causing productions to halt and premiere dates to shift. While many shows, like the HBO miniseries The Undoing, have moved to later this year, AMC and BBC America’s Killing Eve has moved up its third season premiere from its original April 26 debut. The next installment of the series, which finds Sandra Oh’s titular Eve as an ex-MI6 operative hiding in plain sight and Emmy winner Jodie Comer’s Villanelle an assassin without a job, will now premiere at 9 p.m. on April 12. AMC’s new series The Walking Dead: The World Beyond, which was originally scheduled to premiere that date and has since been moved to later this year.

Another show moving is the fourth installment of the FX series
Fargo. This version, which is (quite uniquely) set in 1950s Kansas City and stars Chris Rock, was originally scheduled to premiere on April 19. With its production now on hiatus due to the health crisis, it will now air at a to-be-determined date later in the calendar year.

Lots of summer shows are in limbo because they have all shut down production as noted above. And some shows have not had a release date yet. So please don't ask me where is the Amazing Race? Or where is Big Brother? There's a lot of missing shows that would air in the summer. So please don't complain the schedule sucks and there's nothing remotely interesting at all. This is all subject to change due to the current world situation. If you don't know or have no idea what a certain show listed is, just google it or look up a trailer on YouTube. or look up a description here:

May — it’s not just the name of a badass agent, it’s also when Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will kick off its seventh and final season.

ABC has announced that linear TV’s last live-action Marvel series will premiere its 13-episode farewell run on May 27, where it will air in a brand-new Wednesdays-at-10/9c time slot.

This isn’t your grandfather’s Perry Mason. The trailer for HBO’s reboot of the classic courtroom drama looks to draw a lot more on Chinatown than the episodic formula followed by the long running CBS drama starring Raymond Burr.

Debuting June 21 at 9 p.m., the new Perry Mason stars Emmy winner Matthew Rhys in an origin story of the famed criminal defense attorney. Rhys’ character is plying his trade amid the crosscurrents of 1931 Los Angeles. It’s the Great Depression, but the city is also experiencing an oil boom, hosting the Olympic Games and, of course, the center of a growing film industry.

The cast includes John Lithgow, Tatiana Maslany, Juliet Rylance, Chris Chalk, Shea Whigham, Stephen Root, Gayle Rankin, Nate Corddry, Veronica Falcon, Jefferson Mays, Lili Taylor, Andrew Howard, Eric Lange and Robert Patrick.

Executive producers are Amanda Burrell, Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, Ron Fitzgerald, Joe Horacek, Rolin Jones and TV vet Timothy Van Patten (who also directs). Co-executive producer is Aida Rodgers. Matthew Rhys is the producer of the series created by Rolin Jones & Ron Fitzgerald and based on the characters created by Erle Stanley Gardner.

Yellowstone season 3 is coming June 21.

It was shot last summer, so you don't have to worry about any Covid-19 delays. It's all in the can.

I believe the streaming rights for seasons 1 and 2 will be on Peacock.

Apparently Cobra Kai has been delayed. The show Producer Jon Hurwitz has indicted that in his Twitter feed, but he won’t answer when it will be released until YouTube announces it. Before the shutdown he indicted that a little extra work needed to be done at Sony. I’m guessing due to the pandemic they have not cut a trailer or done any marketing yet.

America's Got Talent and World of Dance will have their next season premieres on May 26th.

I wonder what AGT will do when they get to live show section. The audience is such an integral part of the show, I can't imagine them not having one.
