But he did hit his mother, didn't he? Thus the whole, "I didn't mean to" and his mom's "It not his fault."

But that whole scene did leave me confused. Stormfront appeared to be heavily burned all over her body and all her limbs were gone (not just severed -- gone, like they'd been burned away), but his mom (who was inches away from SF) was unburned, yet appeared to have her neck simply cut? It was like Stormfront got hit by an explosion, but the mom got cut by a blade. I was distracted for several minutes trying to mentally figure out how that had actually happened.

Totally agree. That girl fight (which I do wish had been framed/coreographed a bit better -- it was a little on the clunky side) was completely justified and organic. It stemmed naturally from what the storyline had set up, unlike that stupid, pandering girl power moment in Endgame.

So bullets bounce off of Stormfront, but she can be stabbed in the eye .

I guess the key to hurting Supes is eyeballs and assholes ? :D

Maybe she's like Toad from Five Deadly Venoms or Pai Mei from Shaolin and has a hidden weak spot to their impervious skin.

Kinda seems they all have impervious skin at some level. Didnt they need like a hacksaw just to get out the tracker in Starlight?

Luke Cage was bulletproof, but Claire was still able to go in through his eye with the needle in S1 of Jessica Jones.

Apparently that sequence was supposed to be riff on Endgame. Pretty brilliant.

And was a callback to the earlier scene when they were filming the 7 movie - which was a 100% tongue-in-cheek direct shot at Endgame.

I took the movie as a shot at Justice League. They even named checked Joss Whedon as punching up the script.

Great read. Some Boys stuff in there. Cool to see they appear to genuinely be friends after doing You're the Worst.

I had originally made that post as a joke but then I realized they actually had a scene not too different than that in the show this year.

Yes, I caught that about Joss Whedon.

But I'm talking about the specific "Girls get it done" scene from episode 5. They have to get some flash drive across town, and Grunberg wonders how on earth they're going to be able to do it... Enter the three female members of the Seven, with Stormfront saying "Don't Worry, Girls Get it Done." Direct shot at the Endgame scene.

Did I miss any on-screen hints as to Neuman’s real agenda? I can’t tell if she’s controlled opposition.

There is a post somewhere in the thread that confirms the fly was just an actual fly on set and meant nothing.

S2 was good. Not as good as S1.

I guess Billy Joel is a fan. rotfl Not that I'm complaining.

I never watched this show, but the consistent opinion is that Season 2 is much better than S1.

Can I start with S2 and skip S1? Obviously there will be some loss of understanding, but will the show be a confusing mess?

Why would you want to even consider skipping it? Are you pressed for time? The seasons are short anyways at 8 episodes each.

Watch both and enjoy. They are both great.

Both seasons are great. You will not be able to appreciate season 2 nearly as much if you skip season 1.

Except everybody agrees that ANH is a great movie --and it is not an 8 hour commitment.

I had never heard glowing things about The Boys in 2019, so (as you all know) there just becomes this huge library of shows that you are aware of, but just know you will never get around to watching. All I've heard about S2 is that it is great, and I do like Aya Cash very much from You're The Worst, which is why I am thinking about diving in.

Oh for the love of God just watch season 1. You have something better to do? Just trying to find excuses because you’re too lazy to catch up? This is the epitome of bingeable and addictive show.

and season 1 has an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 91% audience score.

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/the_boys_2019/s01

You lose character set up for many of these people, especially the main villain if you just skip.

The Boys is a highly serialized story.

I think it would be quite difficult for someone to follow if they didn’t start at the beginning.

I am not making excuses for why I am not going to do it. I am explaining why I asked if I needed to do it, since the person I quoted implied that I was looney tunes.

Same here. I felt Season 1 was a lot better than Season 2.

first watch Season 2 episode 6, then season 1 episode 5, then season 1 episode 1, then season 2 episode 4, then season 2 episode 8. that's pretty much the whole series in a nutshell. the others are just filler episodes and don't have any significance whatsoever. much like The Mandalorian. only select episodes are coherent and the rest are filler.

I too feel the first season was the better of the two and would say you should watch that and only the recap for season 2 before starting the eventual third season. ;)

Thank you for giving me advice without attacking my sanity.

Just have the season 2 finale to go, and I've really enjoyed the show. I honestly had no idea what to expect. I knew who some of the cast was going in, but was completely in the dark about the story except that it had superheroes. I like seeing the actors from Timeless pop up.
