How many times has Haqqani kidnapped Saul now; twice?

Love their laptop that can listen in and translate conversations as well as pinpoint the location of multiple Pakistani Intelligence officers, but yet they can't find out who put a letter on Carrie's desk

I'm sure it won't last, but it was nice to have an episode where Carrie wasn't having a meltdown.

Thank you. I was thinking "Hasn't this happened before?!" last night while watching and was afraid to post because someone would reply "how stupid are you...this has never happened!"

I'm not even sure you have to watch S7 in order to watch S8. They're not connected all that much. Yeah you'll miss the back story of Carrie in a Russian prison and her connection to the GRU agent talking to the Afghani VP but I don't know it's all that important.

not a bad start to the season, but yeah we've seen most of this already, still sticking with it to the finale...

Claire Danes really nails the bug eyed crazy woman look. I'm in until the end.

As a father it was tough to see the son's betrayal in the latest episode.

I liked Sunday's episode, but I swear if there's an assassination attempt on President Beau Bridges (or a kidnapping) when he goes overseas, I'll be back to making fun of everyone.

Seems to me they're telegraphing that scenario... and because Carrie suggested it - she'll look like she turned and aided in the assassination/assassination attempt.
And as discussed earlier, it's ridiculous that she's still working there even though some think she's compromised... but now it's beyond ridiculous that they would take her opinion that decides where the President would be.

I don't think they could have telegraphed that more, particularly with the touch of having the new Veep be from the opposite party.

Another great episode this week. They've really ramped things up the last two weeks.

Yes. Surprised how much time was spent on telegraphing given the episode was barely 40 minutes long. Looks like another half-episode tonight as well.

Someone should have told Haqqani that dirt bike is how you travel around Kabul undetected.

Re: Homeland (Showtime) -- The 8th and Final Season -- Premieres 2/9/20

Well, at least they had the guts to actually kill off POTUS and not have him kidnapped or go MIA or something. I actually liked that the VP/now President felt the "weight" of the presidency, rather than turning immediately into a mustache-twirling villain or something like that. I hope, however, he's not constantly asking his Chief of Staff to tell him what to do. Once is fine...he does that with every decision, we're heading into character cliches again. Wasn't it President Logan on 24 that started out really weak and then turned into a criminal mastermind? I see shades of that here.

Anyway, this season is shaping up better than I thought it would.

ignoring her family and mental illness has helped with that.

Classic Homeland tonight

The President was possibly assassinated, all American installations are under threat of attack, but Carrie’s dirt bike out the back exit is still open.

The CIA tasks their most incompetent agent, the agent that lost Carrie when she was trailing her earlier, with making sure Carrie gets on her commercial flight back to Germany

But the bike was covered by a tarp and the back exit can only be accessed through the kitchen. Securing that would be a miracle.

Great airport security.

It is truly breathtaking at times. A certifiably deranged person is running around with unfettered access to...well, everything. And don't forget the umpteenth lecture from Saul about how her unstable behavior has gone too far this time.

Ugh...that scene where Carrie gets the guy to look at the printer. Yeah, this past episode was a shopping list of bad TV cliches.

Jenna’s “You made me look like an idiot” to Carrie made me laugh.

They’re combining every bad TV President cliche to make Hayes.

Nice of Danes to give her husband a job for the last season.

I think I've seen the guy playing the Afghani leader in every monster movie from the 1930s.

I can't help but think that Carrie is going to come full circle and be a double agent.

For the record, there are no mountains around Dover AFB, or Delaware.

To be honest I think it would be a great twist if she really was the double agent but they'd never do that.

Honestly surprised that they killed Max.

Carrie defecting and completely abandoning her daughter would actually be the most Carrie ending they could make.

Now Carrie can make a general mockery of the Russian intelligence agencies for a while. Addition by subtraction...things are looking up for the US of A.

They could do season 9 with Carrie vs. Jenna and the only possible way that season could possibly end is with the total annihilation of the human race.
