Yeah I don't believe for a second that BL's entire earth is going to stay wiped out. Seeing how dark those other Jen's went will hopefully get this Jen on board with the idea that Odell is not someone she should be working with.

Re: Black Lightning (CW) -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 10/7/19

I watched this last episode just because of the crisis crossover, having never seen any BL before (I didn't even realize China Anne McClain was in it).

While I was obviously very lost, they did an excellent job not only catching me up on the plot but also integrating an out of nowhere Crisis event into it and moving the story along, while also setting it up so that they can go back to whatever storyline they were telling next week, when all this is over.

Damon Gupton is leaving the show

Sounds like it was a creative decision.

Also, the show returns tonight post-Crisis.

I'm pretty fuckin' pissed about him leaving. If it was Crisis related then fuck Crisis. I so wanted The Chief and Joe West to meet up and work together. Though I'll enjoy seeing BL interact with other CW shows...I still prefer they stay apart.

I like Chief Henderson as a character and I like the actor too so this is kinda sad. I thought a public reckoning with what he did during the occupation would make for an interesting story line but maybe not.

I suspect it was a budget decision. The CW shows have been fairly ruthless cutting any of the more expensive actors they don't deem essential.

What the hell was up with Lynn? She was acting like some strung out drug addict on withdrawal. That green liquid, was that something she was consuming pre-Crisis? I don't recall.

Because she IS a strung out drug addict? She hooked herself on Green light to "help other people", or so she claims. ASA told her that stuff is not addictive at all and she stupidly believed them?

She said she modified it herself to remove the addictive properties... Only as BL said, she clearly failed.

Specifically...Agent Odell orchestrated her path to addiction.

No one here is watching but this show is clearly just doing its thing being the best Arrowverse show.

I'm still watching this one... and I agree it blows all the other Arrowverse shows out of the water by a good few miles.

I'm still watching. I was a bit worried for an episode or two that the show was going to devolve into teen angst again but it looks like they're nipping that in the bud. I never would have thought of Wayne Brady as a villain but he's convinced me (even if that story line reminds me a lot of Captain America: Red, White, and Black).

Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?

Yeah, I agree that this is the strongest Arrowverse show right now. Not my favorite (that would still be The Flash for me... no, I can’t explain it), but objectively the best.

Well yeah, and he did in this episode. I gave him extra points because the bitches he took out were actual Nazis!

I can't decide if Jen is one of the dumbest or one of the most self-centered characters on television. Her actions cause me to shake my head every week.

smh. I don't think anyone was asking for this. CW running out of ideas so they're spinning off shows with random characters. Next thing you know we'll be getting a spin-off of LoT featuring Mick, and a spin-off of Flash featuring Frost. Actually that latter option would've seem more believable to me than a Painkiller spin-off. Oh well.. personally I'm not going to watch it even though I do like the actor and the character. I wish CW would allow some fresh ideas on their network instead of trying to keep filling it out with random Arrowverse spin-offs without any of the big names non-comicbook fans would recognize.

Ive been binge watching catching up on Black lightning Season 1 before jumping into Seasons 2 and 3.

Does Anissa always have to take a deep breath everytime for her to be super tough? Her taking deep breaths is getting annoyin

Yes. It lasts as long as she can hold her breathe.
