They succeeded in making the new TO as unlikable as possible, but the end scene put things in an interesting light. I liked how Gray supported and trusted Nolan
I thought they had used another Firefly alum, Summer Glau, as the homeless woman, but it was a different actor.

ABC picks up The Rookie for a full 2nd season.
Apparently the initial order was only 13. The story says it's anywhere from 18-20 episodes.

The Rookie is getting a 7 episode back order. So season 2 will also be 20 episodes like season 1.

Or housekeepers that tell cops where your secret stash is...
Or... well, there were a lot people willing to spill info this episode.
Still love this show!

Yeah....when they had the daughter go back to the same pawn shop with more bags as the plot device to get her a gun, I rolled my eyes. No one is dumb enough to go back to the SAME shop to sell more bags when you know you got busted once.

It was a pretty silly premise. "Go develop a CI. NOW!!!"
Nolan, pulling his cruiser alongside a druggie he's never met before: "I'm going to flip you and make you my informant."
I don't think that's how it works.

Even with that, I thought it was a good episode, and I'm looking forward to the new one tonight.

And another good episode last night. I don't know if the ratings are going to support a renewal (as expected, Sunday night at 10:00 is a lousy timeslot), but the show continues to be really good.
In a city like Los Angeles a missile alert like that would create chaos and panic - the roads would clog up and people would absolutely freak out, pretty much like in the episode.

Yeah, I liked this episode. There was a lot going on with the missile panic and all, but also some good character development. I'm glad Harper's secret (her daughter) is out in the open now and she's warming up a little to Nolan.

NFL games aren't broadcast during the night in LA for the most part though, right? Basically just the 2nd halves of the 3 weekly night games? Not sure why they didn't just make that scene during the day.

That scene reminded me of (and I wonder if it was inspired by) this video:

I thought the lady that left was complaining because the offender (who was cleared by the internal review), was back the the beginning of season 2 for filming. Wasn’t it the black detective who’s partner was shot (sorry, forgot his name)?
Yet we haven’t seen that character back yet.
I think Harold Perrineau’s detective character was new this year. I wonder if that was a slight rework/recast.
