Re: Evil (Now on Paramount +)

Maybe I am the only one watching this still but last nights episode was all sorts of awesome. I actually wish they had left it a little more unexplained at the end. Kristen and the nun relationship was super well done. The crypt scene was super creepy. Lose this show. Have a personal theory:
Spoiler:
Kristen's mom is evil.

Re: Evil (Now on Paramount +)

Yeah, I just watched this week's episode and really liked it. The scenes between Kristen and the nun were great. It would be really hard to stay silent in that situation, just because speaking can be kind of a reflex sometimes. I loved the bit when David was trying to clear his thoughts and meditate and his stream of consciousness was fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck Kristen fuck fuck fuck fuck...

I've gotta agree that this week's episode was just flat-out great TV. It was probably the best individual episode of any series that I've seen all year, and maybe even since the pandemic started.

And when was the last time that you saw a TV show's title credits appear 17 minutes into the episode?

Re: Evil (Now on Paramount +)

Would this new season on streaming be worth watching for someone who dropped the show like 2/3 through the first season?

I'd at least watch the finale. But season 2 isn't drastically different.

Dunno if it counts but the first episode of The OA had the title at the end

Re: Evil (Now on Paramount +)

I've been catching up on the last few episodes, but haven't watched yesterday's episode yet. This show is bonkers. Kristen is a nutcase, her mom is... evil? and her daughter is I don't even know what's going on with her.

Sort of bonkers season finale. Not sure how much I liked it. Seemed to tip a little away from is it real or not to almost full blown Rosemary's baby. Still love it though

Yeah, that was pretty crazy. This is such a weird little show that I am kind of surprised that it was renewed for a third season, but I welcome it.

Re: Evil (Now on Paramount +)

I’m still enjoying the performances and the overall arc, but some of the little things are getting annoying. The ‘is it real or not’ schtick is being handled less and less well. The acidic vaginal ooze was the worst example I can recall. No one saw it except the viewers, who watched it eat through several layers of the house, only for it to have been nothing. It’s one thing to show viewers something the characters are unaware of, but kind of silly to show something that doesn’t even exist in the characters’ ‘reality’. The daughter’s tail, some of the satanic stuff with Leland and the mom, the angel/demon visions, etc. feel to me like the writers don’t have an opinion on what’s real and what’s not for the characters, which is a bit worrisome.

I agree with all that but the indication from this last episode is that maybe they are going down the "it's real" road now at least in part. Second half of the season was not as strong though. In the end Kristen may turn out to be the EVIL of the series which no one would expect. It seems like her mother is EVIL, but I get the feeling she may be playing a long revenge game of some sort instead

Re: Evil (Now on Paramount +)

Peter Scolari has died. I was enjoying him in his small role on this show. I suppose they'll write his character out and maybe have a new Bishop take his place.

Re: Evil (Now on Paramount +)

Was he eventually evil, on Evil? I feel like they ignored that subplot half-way through the season.

No, I don't think they ever followed up on that.

I really love the ending “George” parts. I hope they keep them in. I forgot which episode had singing

The producers are certainly having a lot of fun with their creative freedom now that they're producing the series directly for Paramount+. I really enjoyed Episode Three.

Are any of the daughters different this season? Two of them don't look recognizable to me...but that could just be them growing up.

According to the IMDB, the girls have each appeared in 22-23 episodes. In other words, no replacements.
