I figured that would be the case after such a long delay between seasons, and with Amazon likely putting a lot of money into the LOTR and WoT series. Sucks, because I liked this show better than either of those.

I really dig this show and have been waiting for a second season. Sad there won't be a third since this IP seems like fertile ground for further narrative exploration.

Looks good. Sucks this is only getting a second season, since the world feels so rich and worthy of more stories to tell. However, hopefully this ends strong.

Amazon chose the wrong series by pushing Carnival Row out of the way and thinking they could pull a fast one with The Rings Of Power.

As usual, we have idiots behind the wheel of budgetary decisions when it comes to a television series.

The 2nd and final season is now up. 2 episodes are up. This will air weekly on Fridays.

4 years have passed since season 1.

Look forward to watching tonight. Still upset they took so long for a second season, and that this is to be the end.

Re: Carnival Row (Amazon Prime) S: Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne -- premieres 8/30/19

Just finished the first episode of this season. I'm so glad they included a lengthy recap at the beginning, because there was a lot I'd forgotten. Even still, I was forced to strain my memory for the few bits the recap didn't cover. The episode itself was a great reintroduction to the core cast and the current status quo. I am curious to see what's going on with
Spoiler:
Tourmaline and her visions of Aoife Tsigani. Did someone create another Darkasher, or is the same one from season one still around? Or is it the Darkasher made from Philo, in season, all grown up?

Forgot to mention I watched the second episode the next day. I forgot that Aoife Tsigani's Haruspex powers were passed to Tourmaline upon the former's death at the end of season 1. That wasn't even covered in the recap. And, hey,
Spoiler:
Philo's fishy darkasher showed up. So scratch that suspect.

I was surprised to see
Spoiler:
Dahlia and her chief lieutenant beheaded, after the fact, at the end of the second episode. I thought I missed a scene where they were captured while crashing the party.

So, am I the only one watching this season?

Re: Carnival Row (Amazon Prime) S: Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne -- premieres 8/30/19

I just finished the second season. Despite a good start, it fizzled out at the end. Despite the claim that the extra two episodes were shot to conclude the series as a whole, except for the last 5 minutes (during a "Many Moons Later" epilogue) of the final episode, it's all about resolving the season 2 story arc. As such, the ending is incredibly rushed and feels unearned. Quite a shame as this show had a lot of potential.

Maybe someone will finally make a movie based on the unproduced screenplay, A Killing On Carnival Row?
