The Morning Show (Apple TV+) -- S: Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon

1st trailer was released today. This premieres in the Fall on Apple TV Plus.
It has a 20 episode 2-season order.
The trailer reminds me a little of The Newsroom.
Really solid cast. But, I don't know if anyone in this forum will be watching. It's behind a paywall on Apple and I know that most in this forum say they are tapped out from getting another streaming service. I have an Apple TV 4K, but I'm not sure I can afford their service as I'm already going to get Disney Plus this Fall.
I posted a thread a few months ago, but Apple TV Plus is also launching a new NASA show For all Mankind as well.

Is it two seasons and ten episodes each or two seasons with ten episodes total throughout? If it’s the latter that seems like a pretty small order of episodes. Good cast though so it could be interesting.

I don't really care for Aniston but Billy Crudup usually picks good projects and Steve Carrell has been doing a lot of quality drama work lately.

It looks very Aaron Sorkin. And that trailer doesn't make it look like an actually entertaining show.

Just started watching the first episode, and not even 5 minutes in it is one the most gorgeous looking shows I’ve ever seen. More on the actual show later.

Binged the first three episodes. The show is well acted, but the script is rather silly. It’s a very implausible show when it comes to how things happen. Surely this isn’t really how a show is ran. But if you go with their premise it kind of works. It’s not as good as The Newsroom (which I don’t believe I ever finished), but the three leads and some supporting characters do what they can do with their characters, more or less successfully.

Agreed. I only watched the first episode and some of cinematography is phenomenal. There are scenes throughout that remind me of Apple's screensavers in terms of depth and scale. Hell, and I'm not even 4K - but they looked great nonetheless.

Wrapped up all 3 episodes and it's a damn good show. Billy Crudup steals every scene he's in. He's such a smarmy snake in the grass.

I wasn't expecting much given that trailer...but this is easily Apple+'s BEST show (and I was expecting For All Mankind to be). It's not a comedy at all (except for the comedy that comes from characters getting frustrated with their circumstances), so I think given the cast, a lot of people were expecting it to be more like The Newsroom or Broadcast News - it's definitely not that at all. Highly recommended though, if you haven't checked it out.

Not sure what you mean here, but I think the show is definitely trying for a The Newsroom or Broadcast News level of storytelling (Those are comedies? Not really). I’m just not sure it’s hitting that level yet, but there’s potential.

i think so too. and if it were written by Aaron Sorkin maybe some more punch, but i thought the first ep was uninteresting and nothing we haven't seen many times before, but better...

Watched all 3 eps now and am enjoying it very much, I read in a review that the first 15 min of ep 1 was like an apple commercial, and now I can't not notice how they always have an iPhone in hand.
